WOW!!!!! Incredibly impressed. Cannot wait to return!! First time here visiting after a recommendation. Recommendation fully understood! The restaurant is gorgeous. The staff were super duper nice and down to earth. Our waitress was really funny and lovely to meet. The food was so, so good! We ordered starters of breaded brie with chutney and crispy pork belly with hoisin sauce. Our mains were pot roast belly pork with colcannon mash, crackling and seasonal vegetables. Then Sri Lankan fish curry with vegatable pakora and prawn crackers. Everything was beyond perfect and really, really tasty. I wished I could restart and eat it all over again! I was particularly impressed at the Sri Lankan fish curry. For an English pub it really stood up and had some really good, bold authentic flavours. It felt very cosy, traditional and comforting but high quality and nicely presented. We shared a dessert of homemade treacle tart with lemon and ginger. Very highly recommended!!!
Decided to go to The Norton Dog on the spur of the moment. Haven't been for a while so well over due a visit...I had the Steak & Ale pie with mash and veg. If Heineken did Steak & Ale pies, they would probably be the best in the world...second only to the one dish up at The Norton Dog. Beautiful pastry and the steak filling was well cooked and so tasty. Never disappointed with the food here and highly recommend. 10 out of 10
I really enjoyed my roast lamb, my dad loved his vegetarian tagliatelle dish and pint of Norton Dog IPA and my daughter was impressed by the macaroni cheese with garlic bread and salad. The staff were great and the pub itself is a gem, lovely on the outside with traditional yet fresh interior. Will definitely be back, thanks to all.
First time here for me and will definitely be going back! The staff were so friendly and, although very busy, our food came relatively quickly after ordering. All the food tasted absolutely amazing.
Pretty expensive even for me, a Lorry driver class 1. I have served small breakfast and a large latte >£10.00 total price. The place looks extraordinary inside and out, with back garden and VIP garden : Plenty space to park 10 lorries overthere, Food taste was similar home made if you have a home :
I would like to thank all at the Norton Dog for the wonderful meal they provided to celebrate my mum’s 90th birthday! There were 12 adults and a two year old. The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming, everything was set up ready for us and the staff were fantastic. The meal service was brilliant, with everyone receiving their meal within seconds of each other. Side orders and sauces etc were all there as requested and a top up from the bar was so easy too! The food was excellent and we all had a wonderful family get together. Thank you for giving my mum such a perfect birthday meal experience - it could not have been better!
Best Sunday roast in Suffolk We had the three meat combo. Great portions of meat, veg was delicious and all very well seasoned Plenty of staff on duty made the service exceptional. The fantastic friendly pub atmosphere made for a traditional experience. Having Camden on Draught was just the icing on the cake. Will definitely be returning again soon A+++++
Feel that the vegan alternatives are sparse. The Dog is a lovely gastropub, lovely decor and fab garden. But could make tweaks to their menu to make it vegan friendly but seem to miss the point. Sadly I won't be going back.
Great food and staff very friendly its a very nice place clean and welcoming
I have been here a couple of times it is a lovely pub with an amazing garden. I wouldn't go on a Sunday afternoon with a big group as I have felt every time we are being rushed. The staff are nice but not very friendly at times and both times I have ordered a brownie or ice cream and my order never comes or I get the wrong thing. I still want my brownie! Also this time I was very disappointed with my pork. I love my food and I could only eat about two bits out of it. Really disappointed this time.
