What a great find....lovely pub stopover in the camper in car park, lovely people, very friendly and welcoming - staff and customers. Great meals, standard pricing around £10/13 a head, very decent portions. Camembert cheese starter, ploughman's and a triple burger were wonderful. A little disappointed with choc crunch on special board as not chocolatey or crunchy but overall a fab place to stay for meal and drinks. We'd visit again!!
Lovely country pub went there for lunch with friends, large menu I had Ploughman's which beat me! Extremely friendly and helpful, service excellent. Garden and loos tired but that was my only criticism. Will definitely be returning I want try the sizzling prawns.
Fantastic food, large portions. Best steak pie ever. Reasonably priced. Quaint old pub. Very quiet on a Tuesday lunchtime.
Lovely lunch at this traditional pub, a warm welcome from the landlord and toasty log fire. A first class Scampi and chips on a freezing cold day. We will certainly be back!
Stopped at the gardener's for some food as it was late and couldn't be arsed to cook. It's very much an oldy woldy pub that is essentially frozen in time which actually makes for a good change, I'm sick of pubs trying to introduce nouvelle cuisine with silly ingredients and silly prices trying to be something they're not. This is a pub, you get good old fashioned food and good old fashioned beer. I had the lasagne which is home made and superb with chunky chips and fresh peas, bloody lovely. Couple of pints of well poured cold Coors went down an absolute treat and thoroughly enjoyable.
Great country pub, lovely staff and great food, well worth a visit 5*
What an absolute corker of a pub this is. Steve , Jill and the staff make the hard work that is necessary to run a pub like this seem effortless. It's warm, friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious and the beer is perfectly kept. There are covered outside areas to sit should the weather turn inclement, an outside bar for those who still don't feel overly comfortable with being indoors, a play area for children and a beautiful setting close to the village green. I can't rate this exceptional pub highly enough, and look forward to my next visit.
Great food, friendly pub.
Only had a coffee but great landlord. Will be going for a meal before Xmas. Menu looks yum
Splendid pub! Had several delicious ciders and a sausage pie which was the best! Top tip: landlord is a goldmine of fantastic jokes! Dan
