Checked in for a week here and absolutely changed my mind especially after reading reviews, great location, cheap parking with easy public transport available literally outside the hotel tram//bus stop. Really clean fresh spacious room with a wonderful sea view, thanks for the upgrade from Aimee the receptionist. She made the check in experience fast, smooth and just a pleasure to talk to. Give this place a go as it’s a hidden gem contrary to some reviews. Overall feels like a steal for the price I paid! Can’t put into words how accommodating and helpful the staff are. Rooms: Spacious, modern and really comfortable beds, haven’t slept this well in ages! Walkability: Easy to find, access and accommodating for all Noteworthy details: Great views, cheap parking, great rooms and exceptional staff
Our stay at the hotel was good, there were 3 adults and two children in our group and we stayed for 5 nights. The room was warm and clean which is the main thing as was the bathroom. Lovely pillows and sheets for the bed and slept well each night. Had a really nice bath/shower. The pool and gym were very nice and under 12s are free. The dinner at the hotel was nice especially the beef and mushroom pie and they had a range of options to choose from although some of the stuff from the menu wasn’t supplied as the small print reads *we have the right to change and alter the menu* its a bit annoying when you only like one thing from the menu and then can’t get it. The staff were all very polite and definitely helped where needed. The location is convenient as there are shops nearby. There wasn’t much entertainment on the days and nights we had stayed. The only disadvantages of our stays were the roof top wasn’t clean and not nice to look at including dirty nappies, rubbish etc. toilet lid was broken so was quite annoying as kept moving around. Wifi was bad even in the main parts and had to pay £7 a day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can’t really complain especially for the price.
the whole place stank of crack and some fat chav was smoking a joint outside so i couldn't smoke there. carpet was uneven pretty much every where nearly fell on my face a good 5 times and we only stayed one night. my mum also found some smoggy boxers stuffed in the corner which was growing mold potentially mushrooms. this place is perfect if you smoke crack and do heroine. full of people that do it. could of sworn some of them live there as they were claiming as their trap house. wouldn't stay here again even if my life depended on it. i seen a rat run across the hallway and wasn't even fazed as id seen much worse. looks like someone had been discombobulated in the bath as there was a blood stain and a little be of excrement. if the windows opened more i would of thrown myself out as i just wanted to die. the only nice thing was the pool but even then there were people off their face on crack as i could smell the potent rock. ps if your bringing kids pack a gas mask
Very cheap room, very very bland decor and basic. However, the staff were very accommodating and polite and the location is very good. Staff get full points. The rooms need some character desperately, never seen so much beige/off white in my life. Id happily pay more for a room, if other costs where lowered, cup of tea was £2.50 nah, two pints and two shots of whisky was over £20 £23 I think also the bed was on wheels, which made sex more of a challenge than it should be, as it moved all over the room with every oscillation
The room was nice and clean, very compact and very warm, and there was no heating control. Service is excellent staff are very nice. This is a good value hotel and very busy. The food in the restaurant is buffet but very good and tasty with three or 4 choices for Mains. It's a fair bit outside Blackpool, but the tram stops outside the door. It's as quiet or busy as " you" want it to be. Would I go back?Yes, if you're on a budget, it's tremendous value for money.
Cheap prices- get what you paid for. Rooms are a decent size however the place is run down and outdated. There are holes in some of the walls, one of the keycards wouldn’t work, the carpet is uneven and the stairs are also outdated, if you go to the top of the stairs you can get out onto the roof - the door is locked but someone strong enough could easily break it down. The manager is a di*khead, rude and swears at customers. The security guards are a-holes and broke my glasses and phone. Needs someone who actually knows what they are doing and to take care of the place. Would not recommend. Safety: The roof is unsafe - can easily break down the door or break one of the windows to get out onto the roof.
Got to our room after arguing with the hotel reception as they wouldn’t let us check in even though we pre booked. Once in the room we found out are main door wouldn’t lock from the inside and outside so we had to hide our belongings in the room in case someone came in and they didn’t change our room. Bed are like sleeping on a rock would be better sleeping on the beach. Best part about it as the bed was clean
There was probably a time when the Norbreck Castle Hotel was first rate and a Blackpool institution. That time has quite clearly passed. It is a tired hotel, with tired staff and a tired approach to customer service. 20 minutes to check in No ID? No check in!, rooms that could do with some serious updating TLC my toilet wasn't bolted to the floor and the TV remote was held together with gaffer tape and the volume button was stuck, dinner that stopped service at 7pm guests are expected to rely on takeaway services, £20 deposit for pool cues "We've had issues in the past"., intoxicated individuals passed out in the bar and lobby it was only 7:30pm, more security for the bingo and cabaret than at a Taylor Swift concert and to top it all, being woken at 5am by a seagull trying to smash open my bedroom window to get to my takeaway pizza which I had to order because the hotel stopped serving food at 7pm!?!? Yes the staff are friendly and the location right opposite the beach is fine, but if there is an alternative, take it.
traveler review. As budget hotels go this was above average. The manager was very pleasant and the staff also. The room was as expected and had all the basics. The bed was too hard for me due to leg issues. There was no issue me being in a wheel chair using the gym or the pool The bar is a a little difficult to get served at due to the high and people pushing in. Being an old building some of the doors are small and getting a wheelchair past is a bit of a job but you get there. The biggest issue was getting into the hotel, the revolving doors had 2 side doors but both pull outwards at an angle and I could not get in without a second person helping. Will I stay again .. YES The bathroom was big and clean
Rooms are a bit basic, but they've got a clean bed and clean area. The receptionist lady was lovely! She was super helpful anytime we needed help. We were there for 5 nights, and it was quite affordable. The only reason for 3 stars was housekeeping barged into room at a silly time when they know check out isn't till 10:30am. Would Walkability: Tram stop only 2 minutes walk away to go into town.
