Newquay zoo is by far the best zoo I have ever been too. It has so many different species and animals. Even though it’s a smaller park it has so much to see and do. I would definitely recommend going, great for children too! As it has some children play areas.nThey have some pelicans as you walking in which are so interesting to watch! And so much more
Newquay Zoo was a lovely day out. We visited on the 1st of July, arriving just after opening, and we stayed there until just before closing time. There is a good selection of animals, and we were lucky enough to see almost all of them. The keepers talks were interesting and engaging, especially the Hyena talk.nThere are plenty of picnic benches and seats located throughout the zoo, handy if you need a break. The zoo isn't large, and the areas are well connected, so it's really easy to just flit from one area to another. We've taken our kids to many different zoo's, safari parks, and animal parks over the last 20 years. I'd estimate somewhere between 30 and 40. We never get bored of visiting them. Some of the biggest, and most well known ones and most expensive, have also been the least enjoyable. Newquay Zoo has struggled, and it's evident it needs some money spent on it, but it was great to see that it has new owners who are investing in it's future. We had a great day out and we'd definitely recommend visiting. Parking is in the leisure centre carpark, and we paid £7 to cover us for the day. Please note, that images on Google show lions at the zoo, however, they were moved to another zoo in 2024.
A stunning Zoo well worth a visit! Never been so close to so many animals. Lots of very happy animals on site and the Zoo Keeper talks are a must. We spent just under 6 hours on site and enjoyed it very much. Seeing the Hyenas being fed as well as the Penguins was a highlight and the Lynx family baby Lynx. The site was very well run, clean toilets and great services. Thank you!!
What a beautiful zoo! Newquay Zoo is on the smaller size compared to some other zoos I have been too, but it still had a variety of animals from Monkeys, Meerkat, Linx, Tortoise and lots more! All of the enclosures where beautifully designed and we're of good size for the animals. The animals seems to be well cared for. The exotic house is a MUST see, absolutely enchanting to be in there with the sloths and birds free roaming around. We were lucky enough to visit during feeding time, so we managed to see the Meerkat, linx and Sloth having a good munch. Staff were very informative, the keeper for the new Brown Hyena was giving a group of us a lot of information about them. Small cafe on site, not the biggest selection of food and it was on the pricer side for chips and hot dogs. But some beautiful places if you chose to take a picnic. Gift shop at the end, and the lady working was very helpful and informative as we where looking for a Teddy with Newquay Zoo on it, as there in the process of changing ownership the new logo still hasn't been updated in the gift shop, which left little choice for items that had Newquay Zoo on them. All round a great few hours out, definitely recommend the visit.
Lovely little zoo, right in Newquay. Lots of great animals to see from lynx, penguins, zebras and otters to name a few. Great way to spend a couple of hours. Book online to save a bit of money on the tickets.nWould definitely return next time I'm in the area
