Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay

A nice little aquarium on the beach in Newquay... As far as aqauriams go it was very informative... Lots.of various fish... However what let this place down was the price for such a small attraction.... We struggled to stay in there for an hour.... I feel the price is down to being owned by "blue reef" if this was a little independent attraction I suspect the prices would of been a little cheaper.... I understand they have over heads and staff to pay but the volume of people coming in.....

Small place, you can see everything in an hour. The octopus was great. Some of the information written on the tank signs is impossible to read due to the dimmed lighting. I understand it is necessary to have low light for the comfort of the fish, but it means you miss a lot of the supporting information.

It's a bit overrated place. The one in London is far more appealing and versatile. Small place and limited activities make it an average aquarium. Being close to the beautiful reefs gives it a third star.

UPDATE: On checking the receipt we were overcharged. My 2 year old nephew should have been free entry but we were charged £8.50 for him to enter... Original review: The aquarium itself was very good but the staff are terrible. The chap on the ticket desk had zero customer service training and the personality of a dead fish, very unhelpful and unwelcoming. The girl in the gift shop didn't even respond when spoken too whilst she was serving is.... Hardly a welcoming atmosphere! At least the fish seem to be well kept in clean tanks.

Trying to make 200 characters. Fish turtle shark octopus. Some of the things you will see looks small from the outside. But surprising the amount of things they got inside. Gift shop was underwhelming not gonna lie. Although for a bunch of 20 year olds bored it was amusing. Good for smaller kids though.
