Very good place to see trains from the the past to the present it's free to get in but the car park is ten pound all day leave the car and walk in to the city centre
Great day out for the hole family. Free entry but have to pre book. Food is a little pricey. Staff are all helpful and full of knowledge.
An amazing museum with many famous trains. As a parent though it would nice to have a few more interactive exhibits and train carriages kids could go in.
Good value. Pay in the museum and you can park all day!
It's partially closed for maintenance. Check the website .... Still worth a visit as you can do a stroll through York as well.
Decent sized car park used for the railway museum. A few pot holes and large puddles around so be careful. Only a 3 min walk to the museum and on the same side of the road too. £10 to park all day and this is payable at the desk on entry to your museum visit. We visited at 1000 and the car park was only 1/4 full. When we left at about 1230 the car park was packed out and people were waiting for available spaces so my advise would be to get there earlier to make your life easier
Great exhibit will be even better when the transformation is complete
“All day parking” except it isn’t!!!! How do you class this as all day parking where in the small print it states gates are closed at 18:30. £10 all day. Thankfully I got parked at the train station far closer to town for only £7 for 24hours. This is all day parking!
Very convenient if you're going to the museum. Also cheaper than other car parks around. We went to the museum and then out around York for a few hours afterwards.
Pretty central to york and the shuttle service from outside the museum is good. But the lay out bad if you get there late the spaces are tight and awkward togetin and out off.
