I recently visited the national Justice Museum for a ghost investigation on Saturday evening. To my surprise the Venue has changed a dramatic amount from the gibbet cage not hanging in the hallway anymore, there was many displays that I've been removed from certain areas of the museum when it once was the Galleries of Justice like the Gaol is desk when you walked into the cells, various items that were in display in the women's wash area. I used to enjoy attending the museum when it was known as The Galleries of Justice but when I attended on Saturday with a colleague he was quite surprised himself. I could not fault the staff that evening and the security as they were very helpful and informative when I asked him with regards to what was happening with the transformation of the museum. But I have to say with the changes to the museum I don't think it was for the best as I remember it was much better than this when I visited 14 years ago on a school trip.

Fantastic place to visit. I wasn't that excited to go but my wife wanted too and I'm glad we did. Very informative museum about the history of the prison system based inside a former prison, mostly about from 1700 too 1860. Lots too learn. The actors playing characters from the period who will tell you lots of information and show you points of interest you may of missed are brilliant, definitely worth a visit.

Well worth visiting this nicely presented museum. There is a free display across several ground floor rooms, but it is worth paying the admission fee (less than £10 for a Senior) and explore the old gaol, dungeons and court room. Many exhibits of interest gathered from around the nation are on display. You will come across various characters in period costume who are well versed in the history of the penal system. An enactment of court proceedings is held twice a day in the Courtroom. Whilst there are at least two lifts, the building has many stairways and not suited to those visitors who have mobility problems.

Very informative Musuem. Certainly worth combining with the City Of Caves attraction in Broadmarsh Shopping Centre. The attraction really peaked my interest with its in depth discussion of the history of Justice. I'd recommend it for anyone living in or visiting Nottingham. Live actors are positioned around the museum and really make it come to life.

Great day for all the family. We timed it well as kids were free over Easter but either way it's good value for money. The children learnt lots - as did we! Shame about one very rude member of staff but she was like it to everyone so at least it wasn't personal!!
