The museum is great. It takes about 2h to see everything. There is lots of interesting displays and information about the city. There is a lift and disabled toilets on every floor. Videos are shown in sign language. There are things on first and second floor for kids. There are small displays and interactive pieces for children, such a riding a horse, recording studio, wooden trains, wooden houses and video games. The museum is free.
I love museums and outside of London this is one of my favourites. Lots of Liverpool history, lots to see and some hands on stuff too. The building is big and spacious and very modern looking. The exhibits are well cared for and arranged with care. It's free to enter but they do ask for a voluntary £5 if you can.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Situated on the banks of the River Mersey at Pier Head in Liverpool this is a glorious testament to the history of a fascinating North West City. Liverpool has a rich history that goes back millennia and so it would be hard to do complete justice to everything that has helped shape the city. However the Museum does a great job of introducing not just the geographical history of the city but its culture, industry and the social forces that have made it a unique place to live. Liverpool has always been a city of diversity, in people, culture, history and also a city at the front of cultural change and this is reflected in a whole floor dedicated to the many famous children of the city. It is worth noting that this is only one of the many museums in the city, some of which are private or dedicated to a single subject, but the Museum of Liverpool is a great location to start to understand this influential region. The museum is free to enter but it is worthwhile donating to help them keep such a valuable resource up to date and able to host events and special exhibits.
Great museum of Liverpool history and it's free! They do recommend a £5 donation which I did do as it's well worth it. Really nice building next to the Mersey and the docks, on a sunny day it's great. Different floors have different topics, my favourite is the arts on the top floor, so many famous people come out of Liverpool apart from the obvious fab four.
We only stopped in for an hour we had free but loved seeing some of the history of the docks around us. The museum does a great job of bringing it to life with the large artefacts and stories from local people. You could definitely spend hours here and we'll absolutely be back!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
A must visit Gives lot of knowledge about the history of the city, yet in an easy joyful way. Also, kids friendly. All age groups will enjoy something here; Karaoke, PlayStation beside the lovely short vids at most of the stations.
Excellent museum, interactive, ideal for kids and adults, helps you get a good picture of the city's history and highlights in the most pleasant way. Brilliant! The shop and the cafe are also great.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I think the museum was closed, so nt friends and I took the advantage to enjoy the beautiful place with a beautiful weather. Just walked around the sea to take some photos. And later went to dine in an Italian restaurant did love my food b'cos I'm a foodie but my friends didn't. But it was a shame we couldn't get to go to the museum. Will definitely revisit
It’s a great museum lots of things to see. It gets updated regularly so you can keep going without loosing the novelty of going. It’s a great place for the kids to go. It’s got clean toilets and disabled access to basically everything.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
