Probably a top 5 museum in the UK. Right next to lime street Station, very close to the waterfront and a very varied museum with a little bit of everything. It includes cultural history, an aquarium and critters house, ancient times, and there was a bee exhibit at one point so they keep up with the excitement. Its also close to buses that your Liverpool and the main areas that were made famous by a certain band from Liverpool. Oh and it's free entry but accepts donations.
Me and the kids enjoyed it. The free parts are great but very small so for us it wouldn’t fill a full day. We paid for the extra exhibition and wanted to go into the planetarium but didn’t book ahead in Time to get in a timing of show we wanted. Good day out if you want cheap and don’t buy into any extras. But the extras are what keep the museum going so we were glad to pay for them but make sure to budget for it and next time I’d book ahead to get the times you want
Amazing experience. Spit into 5 floors with each floor, giving you a different experience from the aquarium, Bee hive, world cultures, astronomy, and forest. There's something to catch your eyes. There were fake but realistic animals in the forest, but that wouldn't ruin it all. Suitable for kids, too. There is a cafe on the first floor if you fancy a bite. Overall, it was a good experience and worth checking out if you're in Liverpool, and it's totally free, as at the time of writing. Go explorers!
The museum is mainly showing the natural world livings like fish, bees etc with high levels displays. Especially good for parents taking kids to go. Kids will definitely enjoy it and learn a lot of knowledge. Worthy to go.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
I was attracted to the bee exhibition and it did not disappoint; the most engaging and informative I’ve ever visited. The displays seamlessly merge art and science to inform you about the complex and important at roles bees play in our existence. I’ve been worried about the decline in bees for sometime and this exhibit above all that I’ve seen bring home why we all need to change our ways and take the loss of biodiversity and climate change seriously. I fear it is probably too late but if it isn’t go and see this exhibit and consider how you can make a positive change for the sake of the future of our planet.
Had a lovely time. Yes some of the exhibits need a bit of updating, but it is FREE. Not many things you can do for a few hours on a wet day for no cost. Combining this with the Walker Art gallery next door is a great day out.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
My husband and I visited this place today with my daughter. We enjoyed our visit immensely. The venue was clean and well maintained and the staff were friendly and very approachable. The venue is fully accessible by wheelchair patrons and there are lifts throughout the museum. It is free to enter the museum but there are charges for certain exhibits. I would recommend a visit here when you're in Liverpool.

An amazing museum with a massive variety of unique exhibitions! The Egyptian collection is absolutely fascinating and extensive, and probably my favourite section of the museum. There are lifts to all floors, a café, gift shop, and free events throughout the day for kids and families. If you're visiting Liverpool, make sure this museum is on your list of things to do!
I visited this museum primarily to see the "Bees, a story of survival" exhibition. The staff were informative and helpful. I enjoyed the exhibit immensely and then spent some time exploring the Ancient Egypt gallery. The museum is well signed and easy to find your way around. If anyone is having difficulty there are plenty of members of staff to ask directions from. Hope to be back again soon.
