Very nice vintage style pub. Great location and great food. The reason for 3 stars is the service. The staff that was in shift when we were there was far more interested to be gathered together at the bar discussing in loud manner the most recent parties they have been to. We had starters and mains, not once we were approached by staff to check if everything is OK, would we like another drink etc.. Petty for the service because the food was really nice. Won't be in a rush to come back to this place.
Dropped in here recently for a few pints of Guinness. It’s one of those hidden gems. It’s a very spacious pub which is also part of a hotel. Nice pool table and huge outdoor area both enclosed and outside to suit everyone.
Nice pub, quite deceiving in terms of size though, at first I thought it’s just the entrance room and was about to turn back but then I entered and realised it was quite big with a second floor too. Not much of a drinker but food was good liked almost all the items from the platter.
Such an epic family run bar. Easily the most impressive sit down bar I've been to. Historic meets modern that has such amazing staff, plenty choice of beer, great food, incrediblly clean bathrooms and an awesome outside/smokers area. They have trivia nights and open mic nights and show all main sports events. 100% would recommend.
Really liked this place. Popped in after seeing a movie and we just wanted a bite to eat in a pub. Good food, good service and really good atmosphere. Can't believe I have not been there before. Will definitely be back.Food: 4/5
Dog friendly The staff are also really friendly. Was staying at the hotel next door and came for dinner both nights of our stay. First night we had the chicken wings and they were awesome but be aware 1kg of wings are more than you think they are... Second night we had some of the best calamari we've ever tasted on our travels. It was nice and soft even though it was breaded and fried which shows it's freshly made. The jalapeno mayo was a highlight as well I ended up going with the striploin steak and my wife the Caesar salad. We were both loving it. My steak was cooked to a rare perfection and the peppercorn sauce was brilliant. Normally I wouldn't get a steak out as they never get it right but this was great with the chunky chips. For a Tuesday night I was very surprised at how good the chef was he/she knows their craft really well. 2 beer gardens front and back let you decide if you want the evening sun or nice sheltered place to chill. Quiz night on a Tues and we were too stuffed to participate. It was a little busy so get there early. 100% will come back on our next visit to Dublin. And as usual we made a friend at the bar and had a good chat about our travels and doggos. It's one of the reasons I love Ireland.
Nice cozy setting. Every Sunday they have a bluegrass night. Food is delicious. Can't recommend it enoughFood: 5/5
Love this quaint hole in the wall pub. Very cosy on colder nights. Guinness is 7.7/10.
Nice cosy bar/lounge which is part of the Upper Cross House Hotel. The bar food is hotel priced as a result. There is often live music and entertainment including open mic and table quizzes. Lots of little cubby holes and alcoves & also a small pool table & dart board for games enthusiasts. Nice inside outside beer garden and a newish outside outside beer garden also. Great balcony area in front also which is a real suntrap on a summer's day.
Was here with work colleagues and have to say the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were friendly. I would recommend everyone to go here. Shame to not try their food. But I'd say its niceService: 5/5
