Wanted to get a drink with my friends tonight, however, left this establishment with a sour taste in my mouth. We all paid for drinks, and only after the fact were we told that the pub is 21s and that we would have to leave after finishing our beverages. We all felt extremely uncomfortable - felt we were being targeted as a young group of girls who were doing nothing wrong, especially as we are all of age, and had ID with us. A simple sign outside of the pub was all that was needed - we would’ve happily taken our money and business elsewhere to an establishment where we actually felt welcomed.
Eddie was absolutely amazing. My friend and I felt uncomfortable when an older man wouldn’t leave us alone and we asked Eddie for help. He casually got us out of the situation by escorting us to another table. He was brilliant and we are so grateful for Eddie. We will definitely come back purely because of Eddie.
Terrible experience at Birchall’s. Staff were extremely rude and patronising. I went here this evening with friends all of legal age, with IDs for a drink after our meal. We were served and paid for our drinks right before being told that this pub was over 21s and that we had to leave as soon as we finished our drinks. As we finished our drinks, we were made to feel very uncomfortable by the bar staff who were giving us dirty looks and intentionally making us feel unwelcome. We would have been more than happy to have taken our business elsewhere had we been told of this rule before taking our money.

Lovely pint of Guinness, excellent experienced and very attentive staff, no matter how busy you'll be looked after.
Was there last Sunday afternoon.. The bar man was v friendly and helpful.. Fixed a problem with my phone!!! V central and a lovely atmosphere.
Came here with my friends, they let us all buy drinks and then proceeded to tell us it was 21s and we had to leave. We all had ID and are of legal age. There were no signs anywhere and we’d much rather have taken our business elsewhere
Came to this pub with my friends who are all of age, took our business without checking our id’s and then proceeded to say we weren’t welcome there and we needed to leave after our drinks. There was no signs stating this pub was over 21s. Felt very uncomfortable and and the staff were obnoxious
Warm, fun, chilled pub with great staff and a fireplace. Don't be loud
Always has a great atmosphere! Go with your friends and by the end of the night you'd have made more friends.
