Warm, friendly atmosphere with good honest food. The starters were excellent, a lovely Rita, crisp poppadoms and a nice chutney and pickle. The fish pakoras were delicious, crispy and a perfect amount of spice to them. The mixed Grill was excellent, I didn't expect anything else, as I'd heard lots of good things. Succulent range of meats all spiced deliciously. The curries were also excellent, with the chef allowing us to adapt one of the curries which was great. The naan's were also very tasty. Our experience here was excellent and I will definitely be returning.
Nice place, good service.. Just went there by chance but can't complain taste was good. Vegetarian options: Not much veg mains could do better.
Attended as a group of 5 but I've been before. Food is excellent and delivered quickly. There was a bit of confusion over ordering as I couldn't remember if we needed to order at the bar but that was just the drinks. I'm a real ale drinker but was happy with Cobra. Staff are lovely and really friendly. Again, the food was delicious. Will be back.
I just happened to visit this bar, a few months ago, while visiting Currys next door and wow, I was so blown away! The food was so delicious and the service was also great! Since then, I have visited a couple more times and yesterday, being my birthday, I also chose here for my birthday meal and I can be picky at times! I am never disappointed with the quality of the food and the service and pleasant atmosphere makes you want to visit again and again. Vegetarian options: A great variety and of good value for money
Excellent desi grill pub. The pub itself isn't anything extra special, no cask ale, just your standard assortment of lager, smooth bitter, Guinness etc.. but the reason most people visit the Merrymaid is for the food, which is delicious and represents great value for money Vegetarian options: The main attraction is the tandoori meat offering, but there are some delicious vegetarian curries and dals available. Unsure about vegan options. Parking: Street parking. Limited spaces directly in front of the pub.
Stopped here by chance as we were in the area. We ordered a small mix grill which was flavoursome and generously sized and some fish pakora. The food didn't take long and we could see it being prepared through the kitchen hatch. The decor was dated and plain but don't be put off by it. The food is good and the lady owner is very friendly. Overall it was a nice lunch experience.
Awesome food and good service. Standard pub and off road parking. Snooker table at the back. Toilets are a little iffy... Overall, a good place for food. Punjabi chef. Enough said.
This place has such a great friendly feeling. Staff are welcoming, lots of space so covid compliant. Food is yummy and morish and tandoori roti is a perfect accompanyment to any wet curry. Smile
Been going here for a number of years and have never been letdown by the food once even after some changes. Always a great service, even at busy periods and the staff are very welcoming. Word of advice for anyone wanting to come to eat, definitely try to book a table in advance as it can be pretty full or they will be fully booked. Would definitely eat here anyday and would definitely recommend this place
Like a normal pub but the food was 10/10, service brilliant made you feel welcome helpful and polite, will definitely go back
