The hotel was really close to the station, had a really comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. The room was a bit small. The only problem I had was I stated I would arrive at 10am. When I got to the hotel, first the lady at the front desk asked me to wait while she finished marking the luggage left by some other customers. This was fine, however she took a lot of time and even started attending to other customers who arrived after me to check out. She asked me to go sit down and she will get to me to check me in, I stayed by the front desk. When I finally was able to check in, I was told that the room was not ready yet and they needed 20 minutes to get the room ready. I was already tired from early travel and had wasted a lot of time waiting around to be attended to, this was frustrating. For the price paid and considering the type of hotel this is I expected better. By the time I got my room it was 11am which I think is unacceptable considering it was just a day booking for a few hours. The amenities and comp items in the room were good.
Very comfy bed, great shower, good location, nice decor, and a balcony too! The staff were helpful, professional and friendly. They also went out of their way to provide a welcome amenity to celebrate our anniversary. We would recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
After having stayed in 4 other hotels in the area I loved this one. It is nice, clean, rooms are good sized. There is everything in the rooms a traveler might need - toiletries, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, hand lotion. All that neroli-bergamot scented. They provide slippers and bathrobes too. There is a complimentary minibar with some soft drinks and water which they fill up for you every day. The breakfast choices are amazing - I had French toasts with berries and honey - so yummy! Walkability: Very close to several bus stops and to Paddington station
Room was lovely and clean but it was quite small. Bed and linen were good as well as the bathroom. We loved the closeness to Paddington station and the Elizabeth line, just a few minutes away but saying that it is a very quiet hotel. Walkability: Walk out the side exit and you are literally 3 minutes from Paddington station.
I stayed at the Mercure Hyde Park London from 3 August to 9 August 2024, and overall, it was a very good experience. The staff were incredibly nice, helpful, and welcoming, which made our stay feel comfortable from the start. The hotel was very clean, with housekeeping taking care of the rooms every day. The location was fantastic, making it easy to explore London and the nearby attractions. However, the one downside for us was the size of the rooms. For a family traveling with a lot of luggage, the space felt a bit cramped. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the friendly atmosphere and cleanliness of the hotel.
I picked the hotel for its proximity to Paddington. Even though it was close to such a busy hub, it was quiet and calm in the vicinity and inside the hotel. The front desk staff were always efficient and warm. I found the massive pile of trash bags that confronted us by the main entrance each morning to be malodorous and off-putting. Our bed seemed really small for a king-size. Walkability: Easy access to Hyde Park. Walking distance to major transportation hub.
Had a great stay here after flying into London from abroad. We only were staying a couple of nights before heading out from paddington so this hotel was great! We traveled with our 2 yo and got a family room which had a spacious double bed and a twin set up and it worked for our family perfectly. Staff were absolutely fantastic and honestly made us want to stay here again!
Excellent hotel, super friendly and accommodating staff. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Close to the station, quiet area. Would highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
This is an edit to a previous review. My husband and I stayed at this hotel in early June. While we liked it a lot see below, I woke up on the second day of our stay covered in insect bites we assumed bedbugs. We had already booked a return night a week later. I provided photos to the front desk and was told someone would contact me. No one ever did. We returned a week later, and were greeted with apologies, a room upgrade, and free breakfast, as well as a promise that we would be refunded for our original stay. I have contact them twice subsequently by phone and email, but have not received either an update or compensation. This is a nicely appointed and well located hotel . Easy access to Hyde Park and Paddington station. Rooms are small predictable for London, but design of the room and bathroom makes excellent use of the available space. We had problems with the room when we stayed, but the staff quickly and efficiently met our concerns and made appropriate accommodation. We are likely to stay here again in the future.
This is a wonderful hotel, very well located close to Paddington Station - where you will be advised to leave your car, as there is no on-site parking. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient, although we had to ask about breakfast and discover the free internet ourselves. The rooms are a good size and have been renovated to a good standard. There is a free mini bar in your room, which comes with Coca Cola, water, prosecco and orange juice. The only negative area is the breakfast. The room is quite small and crowded and the breakfast products below par pastries, hot food etc. For the brand, we expected better, but it was 'OK'. Rooms: Very moderm and comfortable rooms Safety: Very safe area. Walkability: Close to Paddington Station and Marble Arch/Hyde Park. Food & drinks: Breakfast could be better
