The staff were very helpful and friendly. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Surprised to see a lovely wedding anniversary decoration on the bed. The Breakfast is rather disappointing, quality was a bit lower. Scrambled egg was poor. Fruits look like less fresh ?
We had an excellent experience at the Mercure Rougemont in Exeter for our hockey club end of season dinner.nWith 130 attendees, the whole event was run perfectly.nMassive thanks to Jodie who was brilliant to liaise with over many months of planning.nThey were let down with some staff on the night, but even with reduced staff they worked so hard to cater for us smoothly and on time.nIt was also the best price I found around Exeter for a dinner event this size.
The company I work for had a meeting there.nn Close to the train station, even walkable from St Davids if you're happy with hills.nn Super Friendly staffnn Tea and coffee provided was goodnn Lunch was basic and not particularly pleasant, neither was the granola bar things provided with the coffee. I'd recommend seeking food elsewhere based on the short visit I had.nn The foyer had lots of seats and some with power sockets which was very handy for us.nn Toilets were nice, clean and well maintainednn Can't comment on the rooms as I didn't stay.
Great location, lots of places for everything near by.nWe got a junior suite, I was not impressed with it at all and we were offered a downgrade, which was fine and done swiftly but with little acknowledgment to the state of the junior suite.nFood was mediocre for £16.50 for a buffet breakfast, not a lot of choice and not fresh. Coffee machine did not make hot coffees.
The carpet in the room was heavily worn and stained. Holes in the curtains. The heating wasn't working either so the room was freezing and you could see your breath. The fire alarm went off in the Basement for hours in the night and couldn't be stopped. Tired and outdated. The one redeeming feature is it's in a good location. 3 stars at best.
