Nice large room, complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Cleaned and rubbish removed everyday. Bathroom floor and tub had some dirt/rust. Limited number of channels on TV, but adequate. Airport Hopper shuttle is just down the road. Tickets can be ordered and can take you to and from Dublin airport. Reception was helpful and friendly. A satisfactory experience overall. Nearby activities: Bus stop is a short walk down the road. The number 13 can take you into Dublin, near the Spire. Aldi is just over the road however it was under construction when I was there. There is a petrol station with a shop also over the road which I used a lot. It has a variety of food and drinks.
Normally I’m not reviewing but that hotel annoyed me so much. 2 weeks ago I stayed for just one Night in there. They gave me a room where there were already people. I was offered dinner as an apology. The dinner was not paid for, but a drink was. Last week I gave the hotel another chance. The first room was directly in front of the elevator, extremely noisy and NO hot water in the shower. On the next day I got a new Room which was better but the bed was really uncomfortable. Bad WiFi The fire alarm went off every night Don’t use the Room-Service. 26€ for that Burger. Switched over to a better AND also cheaper Hotel.
Pro points.. Auto check in was ok. As was the auto check out.. Bar and staff were excellent Food was excellent.. Cons.. Room was cold as heating was off and it was a cold day outside.. When ordering a drink was told the bar was out of it. But only 5 minutes later another customer ordered the same drink and got one. It seems it was only a change of kegs was needed so I should of been asked would I like to wait on the change and not told the bar was out of stock..but that's only a small matter.. Biggest fault is the fact they charge 10 euro a night for parking. It should be free for residents on a short stay. As this adds up to 30 euro on a weekend stay.. Friday to Monday... Food & drinks: Food was excellent and a good verity on menu
Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed by us all - all we had was delicious with an amazing range of food on offer. The beds could have been a little more comfortable - I found mine a bit hard. My pillow was very high and uncomfortable though I was able to swap with a lower one which was much better for me.Rooms: 4/5
The room was fine, value for money. Breakfast was good. Only disappointment was that the restaurant couldn't accommodate us in the evening, because we didn't book. Other than that everything was fine, we got what we paid for and the proximity to the Red Cow Luas stop was very convenient.
The room was nice. Beds were satisfactory not super comfy. Free water bottles in room and toiletries which is always a nice touch. Unfortunately we were in room 305 right by the door to enter the corridor which was constantly banging, even into the early hours of the morning which was super annoying. Other than that the hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was decent. Car-parking was expensive at 12 euro a day. Rooms: Stayed for St Patrick’s weekend. So super busy. Room was very noisy due to location.
As a frequent guest at Maldron Newlands Cross since October 2023, I can confidently say that this hotel sets the gold standard for hospitality. Each week, I return for business, and each time, I am greeted with the same level of warmth and professionalism from the reception staff. The bar staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure that I have everything I need after a long day of work. Whether I'm unwinding with a drink or grabbing a quick bite to eat, they always provide excellent service with a smile. The lunch, dinner, and breakfast options never disappoint, offering a variety of delicious dishes to satisfy any craving. The culinary team truly excels at creating memorable dining experiences, and I always look forward to sampling their latest creations. One of the things I appreciate most about Maldron Newlands Cross is the attention to cleanliness and detail. The room cleaning by all staff members is impeccable, and I always feel like I'm walking into a freshly cleaned room each time I arrive. What truly sets Maldron Newlands Cross apart, however, is the friendliness of the entire team. From the receptionists to the bar staff to the housekeeping team, everyone goes out of their way to make me feel welcome and valued as a guest. Their genuine warmth and hospitality make each stay feel like coming home. In conclusion, Maldron Newlands Cross is more than just a hotel—it's a home away from home. With exceptional service, delicious dining options, and a friendly team that feels like family, I wouldn't stay anywhere else during my business trips.
We were so impressed by all the staff we encountered at your hotel. It's never easy taking 3 young children away for a few days but the little things every staff member did made our stay very memorable us and our children. From the interactions with the staff at evening dinner joking with our 3 boys to the babycinos being brought down when it didn't seem so busy at breakfast for the kids. I was particularly impressed with how, what seemed to be the bar manager on Friday evening handled the loud gentlemen at around 5-6pm while we were in having dinner. She was tactful and very skilled in her approach. Food was fantastic, service exceptional. We'll definitely be back down at Easter for a short break Nearby activities: Kildare village shopping only 20 minutes drive away, easy to get to some great local parks only minutes away. Food & drinks: Lots of great food at the hotel, breakfast at hotel exceptional and dinner was top drawer. If you like to dine elsewhere there's a couple of nice restaurants near by across the road and when the kids are 'hangry' we found the take away options across the road very helpful
Needed a room close to a local company visit, upon arrival the check in was slow, room was several long corridors away, went to bar for food, ordered a drink at bar and tried to order food, was told abruptly if you want food you sit over there & can’t order food at bar. Anyway sat over away from bar and got meal, it was good. Next morning went for breakfast early, it starts at 6:30, I went in at 6:27 and was told ‘out we’re not open to 6:30’, yes I understand 6:30 they are setting up but 3 minutes, so returned in after the critical 6:30 got breakfast, except for one young very pleasant lady in the breakfast area taking my payment, the rest of the staff were not at all pleasant. The room itself was good,
Saddened by the room. The tub was rusted through. Otherwise, clean and comfortable. There are no working thermostats. So wear layers or nothing depending on your comfort level... It is spread out. Be prepared to walk to anything you need. Parking is right and limited. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Safety: I did get safe here. The parking is gated and there is only one way in or out at the front desk.
