This place is an amazing community space with a wide range of activities for various ages throughout the year. Activities range from technology to foreign languages, some free and others with a small charge. This place has been a godsend to Manchester, like a school, but with more interesting subjects. I have been meeting here regularly as part of a Korean language exchange group and as a result, I have made many new friends both local and from South Korea.
It's a great creative space with free wi-fi, hosting many varied meetups. I'm thankful to MadLab for making many of my favourite meetups possible, and their staff are very friendly! I'm only giving it four stars though because of how difficult it can be to find the right room you're supposed to be in. It can take numerous attempts to find your group, and once you do, there are bound to be half a dozen intercom calls by other people who are lost and trying to locate the right room.
MadLab is an awesome resource. I have run my tech group meet up there for a long time and they have always been super helpful and accommodating. I've also run training courses there and the staff and venue greatly contributed to the success.
Outstanding idea, wonderful people and a comfortable work space for technical projects. On top of this being located in what is easily the coolest food street in Manchester, it's close to the city centre and easy to get to on a short walk from Piccadilly Gardens. The space is no nonsense and functional although there is a beautiful minimalist staircase and there plenty of space for building a games console, as I did picture uploaded. There's plenty of courses and clubs, most with a tech focus and all with a community focus. Go check out the website and get involved regardless of your knowledge or background
Great place for meet-ups. Right in the hipster heart of Manchester with excellent bars and eateries. Not tried to park nearby but plenty of commercial / paid for parking. Staff are friendly and has a decent wifi.
Decent space for smallish events under 60 people approximately, having 2/4 rooms to do so, but management has recently changed for the worse, most who used to use it as an event space have moved to NOMA from MadLab.
I have only been on the bottom floor of Madlab for a meetup and while the space is useful and useable it lacks some of the character of the other spaces available close by. That said I did thoroughly enjoy my time there.
Manchester's Geek nirvana. Manchester Digital Laboratory or 'MadLab' hosts a range of clubs, groups, classes and activities over three floors. Manchester Girl Geeks are quite often held here but there are more formal learning events like WordPress and programming courses.
Visited MadLabs for an unconference and it's a really great space. They offer some really great events and courses for anyone into new technologies.
MadLab is an inclusive community space in central Manchester. It offers people a chance to get together and engage in creative, computing and scientific workshops and projects.
