Set in a pleasant building with lovely areas to do work the Joule library should be a wonderful place to relax and study. What I am sad to report is that certain members of the Joule library staff completely remove the possibility of a quiet study session due to their consistently inconsiderate conversations behind the desk on the upstairs floor. Whilst large numbers of students are working in silence, the noise of the staff members behind the desk is impossible not to be distracted by and thus ruins this otherwise pleasant library.
Really nice library, lovely view, adequate workstations etc. However, though everyone using the library is for the most part quiet and respectful, the staff who work at the IT services desk are constantly talking. Its so frustrating because the rest of the library is silent and you can hear them chatting in the WHOLE library! This has been an issue every time I have been there as well.
Normal much quieter than the other university libraries, worth the extra walk
Went to find a business book. Nice place to study - very quiet, never many students there.
Staff are great in my experience - bit of quiet banter, suitable for library space ;
Dont know what some people on here are on about, i found the talking a pleasant compliment to the work stations and panorama views of manchester
Super nice and Quiet
