We decided to go to Mad Hatter for lunch after we had heard a couple of recommendations about it. It's only has a small shop front but there is also plenty of extra seating outside at the back. It does get quite busy. Nice food and a good variety which is well presented, although you may require a sweeter tooth. I would recommend you give it a try. We used the lido car park which is nearby for 2hours but we would have been better in a long stay car park if you want to go shopping as well.
Great funky little place. Popped into Matlock in our holidays and we're looking for somewhere to have some breakfast. Stumbled across this place and boy am I glad we did. We generally prefer little local places and this one didn't disappoint. We also have a dog so that always gives us the extra challenge of finding somewhere suitable. We have a lovely cooked breakfast and our little girl had a stack of pancakes see the pic. Was lovely and staff were friendly too. Defo recommend a visit
The interior is nice looking but unfortunately made inside space a little tight and chairs are not very comfortable. The can that they used for utensils was a little out of place and didn't add to atmosphere. Food was okay, it is pricy for some things and tatse wise i would say it is a little average to what we had. Drinks were good, i fully enjoyed special latte, freekshakes and normal milkshake were good. A little disapointed in Chesire cat cocktail as it didn't taste alcoholic at all and the name of cocktail did not show on looks of it.
Enjoyed my first xmas dinner of the year in the form of a turkey & all the trimmings ciabatta! We sat in the outbuilding which has a roaring fire and is nicely decorated and roomy. I've seen some reviews mentioning the service not being great at times but our waitress today on a Saturday lunchtime was attentive and friendly and everything was served reasonably quickly.
Only went in for a "Freak Shake" We both chose Banoffee flavour and it was lovely. Lots of extras, like ring donut, banana sweets, cream, toffee sauce on top. Very filling in a wonderful little café bar setting. Nice little outside area as well. All the food on offer looked amazing and we'll definately be going when in the area. Staff were lovely and Friendly, well worth booking in advance, very busy.
A-Ma-Zing Visited on Sunday, make sure you book if you want a guaranteed table. I had such a lovely time with my friends. The food and drinks were fantastic.....5 of us went and not one of us had anything bad to say. My panini was amazing and my nutella scone too. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. Can't wait until we go again.
Really nice menu! We tried the Freakshakes and we wasn't disappointed!! Food is top quality and the staff were lovely and very helpful! Will defo be going back!
This was an absolute treat of a place. It is what I would call cozy with space. You need to book as it gets busy and there are few tables available there are outside tables. The food is cooked to order and is delicious. Simple food done very well. The staff are friendly and attentive when they need go be. We would definitely go back.
Loved this shop, we visited Matlock and popped in here as it was dog friendly and we had our springer with us, hubby had a BLT with chips and I had a fish finger and mushy pea sandwich and chips absolutely delicious foodFood: 5/5
Excellent service, food, drinks and entertainment. We've been here a few times and it's never failed to deliver. Welcoming and hard working staff make eating and drinking here a pleasure. There's a log cabin area at the back overlooking the river that opens every day and Friday and Saturday evenings I think. There was a singer on when we went on st Patrick's day who was great. On the whole a great experience and we will be back. Cheers
