Really lovely hotpot restaurant. Hotpot with lotus root, tofu, fish cake and chicken tasted amazing. I didn't have lamb or beef but if you prefer having them please go ahead as they might taste great too. The ambience is just right for having a chat or catch up with your friends. Good staffs - they don't judge you for however long you stay Great service as well. No waiting time as such. If they have seats available then no reservations needed prior visiting. Also, if you're a student carry your ID card as they offer 10% off to students from Monday to Friday. P.S. we also had rice cake with sweet sauce and trust me, YOU MUST TRY IT
I can understand why this experience can be a bit puzzling to customers who aren't familiar with the concept of hot pot. The menu is brought with a pen, and you just write how many of each you want. The waiters come to pick it up, confirm they understand what you wrote and will replace your paper menu by your side so you can keep adding if needed. Start with selecting the broth, then meat, sides and vegetables. My advice is to under-order rather than over-order. We were 3 people and with what we ordered we just about managed to finish everything we ordered as they're generous with the portions! We went for the small dual flavour with less spicy chicken broth and the tomato broth. It's a sensible option to have a non spicy broth for guests who don't eat spicy. Because it was our first time there, we went for ease and chose the beef & lamb platter and the small vegetable and noodle platter with additional sides such as kimchi and octopus. The food comes really quickly as obviously, everything is raw. The seafood is served on ice which is a nice touch. I would say that in the vegetable platter, I definitely didn't need the potatoes or carrots, and the noodles included in there were the single thick/large ones but there weren't many of them. Next time I would order my vegetables and noodles separately. The meat was ok but I missed a nice sauce to dunk it in. We ordered this green chive sauce which I really don't recommend. It was really, truly awful. The kimchi was super delicious and I couldn't stop eating it. The broths were both very flavourful and definitely not too spicy. The waiters came to top it up half way through our meal. The service was ok and quick. We arrived at 6pm so it wasn't busy at all then. However when we left at 7.30pm, people were queuing! I definitely recommend booking.
First hot pot experience in London and very happy about this choice. Great value since we spent roughly 30£ each and had a lot of meat and 2 bottles of wine. The food was very nice, I recommend the beef slices.Food: 5/5
Was my first time attending hot pot and I absolutely loved it. Food came so quickly and was so fresh and delicious. The staff offered some advice for cooking times too which is also on the menu. The broths were so flavoursome and fresh. The lamb and beef were definitely faves.Food: 5/5
While not the first hotpot we have gone to, my partner and myself were very impressed with the service; attentive, considerate and quick come to mind. The staffs knowledge of their menu was very good too. The restaurant decor was a perfect mixture of traditional and modern although the music through me off. The food was delicious and is very good value for money.
Love this place! They were so fast with the service. I went with my Chinese friends for Hot Pot and we all couldn’t stop eating! Especially due to the wide range of variety to choose from! Their chicken is amazing! I need to go back! Their hot pot noodles were delish too! Bathroom was mixed had some mouthwash and a few other essentials you could use for after eating. Glad I went here, I might take my family next time.
Craving hotpot so went to Happy Lamb. Generally always pretty busy. Proteins are great quality - only wish they would devein the shrimp so you don’t have to eat the digestive sack… The spicy soup base was far too spicy for my other half so wouldn’t recommend unless you can really take a lot. The tomato soup base was really good. As were the veggies and the beef!
We were lucky to get a table on Saturday afternoon at 2pm as we hadn't booked. It was fairly busy in the restaurant. We were seated by a concierge who didn't say a single word to us when we asked to see a menu and asked for a table. The food was good. Chicken broth and the food we ordered for the hotpot seemed fresh. They played pop music in the background which was helpful to block out conversations of others in the restaurant. Would recommend for food, not cheap but good food. Don't expect super service but they do add service charge on the bill.
High quality food with great amount of portions! We've been to several other hot pot places and happy lamb doesn't disappoint. Been curd rolls in the tomato soup was delicious Food: 5/5
It’s been so long since I’ve had hot pot since it’s so hard to find gluten free options that are safe for those with coeliac, but Happy Lamb really delivered! Menu has allergens noted and staff were able to point out potentially risky items to me so I could feel even more at ease. The food was so delicious, the staff were clued in and very reassuring, and I didn’t get sick. Would absolutely go back!!! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options! Safe for coeliac and staff seem very allergen aware.
