Vegetarian & Vegan Options * Overall Review on last 2 paragraphs WHAT I HAD: Market Set of Temple Brew Vegan Broth Soy milk, mushrooms, white turnip and Dried liquorice root, Noodle, Dipping Sauce and 3 Green Plate Ingredients [£11.00] It was during Chinese New Year and it was cold, so I was definitely in the mood for Hot Pot but didn’t have any one to go with. So, I was delighted to have come across Shuang Shuang after a quick google search, and was very interested in their Vegan Broth Temple Brew. So, I had my lunch here. I was there when they just opened for the day, so I was the first customer of the day. The place really isn’t that big, with seat around the conveyor belt and only a couple of booths that each seat 4 people. The waiter explained to me the menu and how it works, along with the deals they have. I got the Market Set with the Temple Brew Vegan Broth that came with noodle and 3 green plates. The tables had built in induction hobs on it. The soup took a while to boil but really stayed hot really long once it did. Of course 3 green plates wasn’t enough and I ended up eating up to 8 other plates. I really enjoyed the Temple Brew that was creamy, soothing and sweet with herbal flavour too. They have a good variety of ingredients, definitely would be nice to see more vegan options too. You do get free broth refills but really isn’t worth it because you will end up spending more on the ingredients. The staff was ok and I know the concept of the restaurant makes it mostly self service but they still could be more attentive. They didn’t point me to the free dipping sauce and toppings until I asked whether I was free to help myself to it. At times, it also took me a while to get anyone’s attention when there was just me and 2 other customers whether it was to add more broth or getting the bill. I like the concept and think it’s a great spot to have solo Hot Pot perfect if you worry about dining alone, esp Hot Pot, but definitely watch how much you eat as the bill will quickly rack up especially if you have meat and seafood.
Great experience for newbie hotpotters. The restaurant can he found upstairs to what can be described as quite a clinical environment. The broths where very tasty, as long as you can hold your spice, I would highly recommend the mala.
A bit quit on high price side. Quality is ok. Buffet is good. Depend on promotion. Every kind of dish suppose to available all the time. Put every dish on the belt equally.
Great hotpot recommend the mala soup it's super spot and numbing. Pretty good value, ate until exploded and spent about 30.
Ramen bar tucked upstairs has a quick, simple menu that's a little on the pricey side £11-£13 per bowl but worth the money. It's usually quiet too, which is a huge bonus.
A nice little hot pot restaurant in Chinatown. Those who like extra spicy in their soup should visit here at least once . The quantity of the meat and prawns are less but it’s not over priced Friendly staff and the conveyor belt is regularly filled with vegetables by a friendly staff. Should have two more variety of bases as they currently have less than 5 Overall experience is good and the Flavours are nice . Will recommend this place
I think this place deserves at least 4 stars. The food is very reasonably priced. It was fun to watch the plates going around the restaurant
Really enjoyed all you can eat for hotpot. 27.50 per person which is reasonable price for all you can eat option. staffs are impressively kind I read some reviews which informed staff is rude previously. could have been 5stars but it was a bit shame there is no available lamb apart from paying extra money on it. I went to here with my boyfriend who has got massive portion so I didn't feel wasting money. But if you go alone and your portion is not big enough, then I would recommend just have hotpot as it is not as all you can eat option.
Tom Yum is really good. Mala is a bit too spicy. Carefull if You are not used to very spicy
Hot pot for One person!!! Not expensive, but the food is not fresh...However, is good place to eat hot pot if you are alone!!! Around 25-30per person
