My husband and I have been visiting the Lakeside Hotel at least once a year for the last 15 years and have thoroughly enjoyed all of our stays.  As the children have come along they have also enjoyed their visits.  The food is exquisite and the dining experience in the main restaurant is wonderful.  The pool area is very relaxing, warm and clean with a good sized pool, children's area of pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all looking out over the garden and lake.  

The only criticisms I can find is the temperature in the bedrooms is always a bit too warm but this can be remedied by turning off the radiator and opening the windows.  

The only other down side is the recent price hike.  A weekend at the Lakeside has never been cheap but recently the prices and really increased, not only of the accommodation but of the food too.  Other than an upgrade of the room locks (now key card) and some structural knocking through from a lounge to the conservatory I have not seen what extra the increase in price has provided.  

We still enjoyed our stay but the price is now outweighing the experience and we have been considering staying else where when we visit the lakes.

Just back home from an amazing 2 night stay in the lakeside hotel and it was a 5 star experience. The accommodation and decor was 1st class... the staff we're amazing and couldn't have done anymore to make our stay better. Amazing views and for my first trip to the lake district it could not have gone any better. I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the Lakeside Hotel as you will not be disappointed. Already looking to return soon. Thank you to all the staff for the most amazing stay ❤

Superb, very reluctant to promote too strongly as we want the place all to ourselves...... We have been coming here for over 11 years and have never had an issue or concern. First class and so many small touches that sets the place apart. Staff are well trained, extremely attentive and always seem to be available. Highly recommend for a special stay in The Lake District.

Stunning hotel set in fantastic grounds directly on lake Windermere, access from the water via jetties, from the cruise ships, bus and car. Prices for drinks are very high compared to other similar places around the lake.

Excellent stay here for a long weekend with our children aged 6 and 11. Very welcoming hotel that is family-friendly. Our room with separate closeable bunk bed area for children was large and comfortable, and although the decor was a little dated, it was light, airy and spotless, and a very pleasant place to be.

 Food here is a highlight. Breakfast is excellent! Informal dining in the Brasserie is perfect for family evening meals, and a nice range of lunch options available in the conservatory. 

The spa is only open to hotel guests, and the pool is a good size with large shallow area, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Spa treatments also available, and a small gym.

Staff were universally excellent. Everyone was very friendly and the children were made welcome and never felt like they had to be seen and not heard. For a special celebration or as a treat then this is a great hotel in a lovely location.
