This hotel is literally immaculate; the best stay I’ve ever had in the U.K.nnFrom arrival we were made to feel special, the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful.nnThe facilities themselves are 10/10. We could barely leave the spa, the drinks were beautiful and it wasn’t too busy.nnFood in the restaurant was also outstanding, and as a bonus the staff dealt with my nut allergy excellently.nnCouldn’t recommend highly enough.
Upon arrival concierge gave us a warm welcome and walked us around. Service was great and accommodating including reception and restaurant staff. Brought us a fridge at no extra cost. Spa open till late with several kinds of pools. Kids were welcomed in the pool till 14:00. We walked to the center and to the waterfront. There are also bikes to rent from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was amazing!
First time at this particular hotel. We decided to up our game after a disappointing experience at a different hotel in Windermere and glad we did. Check in could have gone better, no help with luggage and no directions given towards our room. Fabulous location, free parking, lake view room which was excellent. Extremely soft bed which didn’t suit me but comfortable with fab pillows. Some of the rooms are quite a distance from the main reception area. Could be an issue If you have an impairment. Loved the table service at breakfast and enjoyed the full English. Gluten free option is very limited. The staff also seemed unsure about Gluten free options in the brassiere. We lost confidence and ate elsewhere. Staff thoughout our 2 night stay were pleasant, helpful and attentive. There is a small but excellent games room for children/adults, however I am perplexed why that should be closed at 19:00hrs. The very time most families would want to use it.
Lakes Hotel and Spa always pulls through! This was our second stay and it was just as fantastic as the first. It might be budget-friendly compared to other spots, but it feels like a total steal. The rooms with hot tubs and those stunning Windermere views? Unbeatable. The staff are absolute gems, and the spa is the perfect mix of relaxation and invigoration. Can't recommend it enough!
I recently had the misfortune of staying at Lake Hotel and Spa and I can confidently say it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that hospitality was not a priority. The staff was indifferent and lacked any semblance of friendliness. We were left waiting on the terrace for an exorbitant amount of time without even a basic acknowledgment of our presence.nThe room itself was equally disappointing. The lack of air conditioning and refrigerator was a shocking oversight,especially given the hotel’s supposed standards. The constant battle with the shower temperature was an added frustration,oscillating between freezing and scalding without warning. It's hard to believe such basic amenities could be absent from a hotel claiming to be five-star.nThe only positive aspect of our stay was the concierge. His professionalism and helpfulness were a stark contrast to the rest of the staff. Unfortunately, one good employee cannot compensate for the overall shortcomings of the hotel.nIn conclusion, Lake Hotel and Spa is a prime example of a hotel that simply does not deliver on its promises. The lack of basic comforts, coupled with the poor service, makes it a place I would strongly advise against staying at. Your vacation is too precious to waste on such a disappointing experience.
