A fantastic way to start our holiday. Excellent friendly (European service) not surly English take it or leave it. The food was excellent, crab and lobster small to start. We shared the starter. For centre we had Cornish lamb French style and an Italian style belly of pork. For dessert a sticky toffee pudding date pudding. We at back at Gatwick in a few weeks. We'll be here again.

Breakfast is a solid 4 star. Dinner is good but a little pricey. The star is next door in URBAN CAFÉ. Excellent food ... London prices but not to make your eyes water. 6 or 7 visits and I'd have to be picky to fault it. Casual in comparison.

All front and no quality. What a disappointment. We decided to eat there as a treat to start our holiday. Firstly the choice was boring, really boring. My wife is a vegetarian, and you would have thought that a restaurant of this 'quality' would be able to offer an option of more than one choice on both starter and main, but this just not the case. So we had a 'warm' cheese with truffle oil to start. (as everything ells was so 'vin du table'). Looking forward to it we tucked in. That is where it all when wrong. It was terrible. It was also cold. I then asked the water "was me or did the menu say warm?" He told me "it did not say warm sir" and I took his word for it as he wasn't going to lie to a paying customer was he. Well he did and it really annoys me. On to the main course. the only way I can describe it was boring but edible. My wife however left most of her's as she described it as tasteless. We decided to skip pudding as we had had enough disappointment for one evening. The food was disappointing, the lie insulting.

Surprisingly excellent! Pleasantly surprised by both the service, which was excellent - given by my waitress Oana. And the food was very flavourful, well prepared and presented - nothing to fault at this ubiquitous airport hotel.
