Ye Olde Six Bells in Horley is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

A little Pub history
We must thank the Norman Lord who needed a place to refresh himself after the long services at St Bartholomew's Church for Ye Olde Six Bells. Nowadays the services may be shorter but our atmosphere is just as refreshing. Ye Olde Six Bells has been an important venue in Horley for over 700 years, operating as an eating and ale house, which welcomed guests attending Court Lodge Manor.

Our quaint country inn is reputed to be the second oldest pub in the country with origins dating to the 9th century. The pub gets its name from the bells originally hanging at St Bartholomew's Church next door.

We visited Ye Olde Six Bells today and there were definitely some positives. The pub itself is charming, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food we had was genuinely tasty. The steak and game pie was excellent, and it’s clear the kitchen knows what it’s doing.nnUnfortunately, the experience was let down by the pricing. We asked if it was possible to order just a main dish from the festive menu, and were told this was fine. What we weren’t told was that we would still be charged the full two- course price, despite not receiving any starters. Paying £31.50 for a single main course, regardless of quality, didn’t feel fair or transparent.nnUpdate: Following my review, the pub reached out and offered a refund, which I genuinely appreciate. It was handled professionally, and they explained it was simply a human error. A thoughtful gesture and good customer care, so credit where it’s due.

Lovely place with a lots of history. This pub was build in 1450! Very simple menu with not too many options. They have a decent size car park and staff is very friendly. We had a lovely time and delicious dinner. I definitely recommend it.

We love this pub & the amazing Sunday dinners! The location is perfect as it’s so close to the airport, so we come every time we fly out! The atmosphere is really cosy & the old features make it special & unique. We were served by Kye & he was really friendly & looked after us ensuring we had everything we needed, promtly & with a smile!

Stayed in Horley for a couple days on flight layover.  Six Bells came highly rated by my Air Bnb and Google.  Exudes classic British charm, history, and atmosphere.  Enjoyed a local ale one day and came back for Breakfast the next.  Service was attentive and cheerful.  Food was generous and delicious.  Highly recommend.

Staying nearby airport hotel and found this lovely pub. Fish & chips were wonderfully fresh and mango & passion fruits pavlova was outstanding. A wide variety of beverages and the service was excellent too. Glad we went there.
