While staying in the Hampton overnight to catch a morning flight we chose to go to the Sofitel for dinner as there seemed to be more choice. My partner had the fish and chips which in her words was not the greatest. I had the sirloin steak. The steak itself was well cooked and tasty but that is pretty much where the good news ends. Sauce what little there was of it was bland and the salad looked like what a child what put together. That along with frozen chips is not what I expect for £25!
The menu looked good with many options so we decided to try supper here.. it was pretty disappointing. I had the fish and chips which were ok.. the fish was decent but not a very large portion and the chips were nothing special. It went downhill from there.. my fiancé ordered the Thai green curry which wasn’t the greatest flavour and very watery. The main issue was the service was extremely SLOW. And they were well staffed. The server was nice so I hesitate to leave a bad review.. the kicker was that for a table of two the gratuity was automatically included which was annoying since virtually every restaurant we ate at in Europe didn’t even leave an option to tip when paying by card so you had to find cash to leave. Of the dozens of restaurants we ate at this one was least deserving of a reward for service.
The worst food I’ve ever eaten. Restaurant smelt of toilet, food choices were strange, service was off, and my carbonara was soaked in oil.
