Nice place but burger's were quite fat and they could be prepared better. Personally I prefer a medium rare burgers and those were unfortunately well done waiter didn't ask how they should be cooked. For that reason only 4 stars.
I had THE BEST chicken sandwich here. My god was it amazing. I also had about 5 rounds of drinks with a set of friendly locals. This pub was recommended to me by the desk lady at the Swan and she was right. It was incredible
Great place to stop off for a bite and a pint at good prices. Staff very nice and even left a key for the disable toilet for our friend who is recovering from chemo , though they didnt know it. It's those little humane things that cost nothing that make go back and tell friends. Thanks to the young man that didnt ask questions but just made a kind gesture that meant so much.
Hi turnover of staff all nice, including managers like the invaluable Stephanie. Well priced menu options but often badly cooked. However, if you are seated near the kitchen door you may get to see the current chefs, exhibiting various stages of cleanliness, depart the side entrance for a smoke. No longer my High Street choice for food.
Booked at 5.40 for 6 to eat, when we arrived we were told to find a table, all of which were for four and we were five. The waitress gave us 5 minutes before coming for the food order, we hadn't even ordered drinks. When I tried to order drinks first she said can I just take your food order as the kitchen is about to close! We ordered the food and then the drinks. When she arrived with the drinks she had poured them all over the tray. She then threw the liquid on the carpet and offered to fill up the points. The food came out and it was cold, missing some of the items listed, like peas and tomato. The medium, well done steak was still bleeding. Chef came out to apologise, only decent thing was the young bar man took the three points off larger of the bill, two were included with the steak offer!! Not impressed and won't be returning, shame it was the end of a family break in half termthe tray
Really unfriendly bar staff, walked in at 2210 as someone was being poured a pint - got told very flatly that they weren't serving. Wouldn't mind not having the drink but don't much like people being that rude. Won't be going back!
Basic menu, but good food. Reasonable prices. Nice to see it open again !
We went in for a drink before going to the cathedral however we have a 25 min bar wait with only three customers before us and then charged nearly £8.00 for two small lemonades .. won’t be going again
Disappointed with the food very basic bread roll dry/stale Nice atmosphere clean surroundings would go back only to drink
We enjoyed a lovely meal and enjoyed the fact that you could have conversations without having very loud music being played as in some establishments.
