Seriously, best Chinese I've ever had. Flavours were excellent, ribs were beautiful. Nice lady, such an unassuming looking place but fantastic food.
How this place is so highly rated is beyond me. Curry tasteless chips clearly left out way too long. Fried rice no flavor and lemon chicken sauce that was as flavoursome as lemsip cold and flu drink. And tiny portions for the price Very poor!
Ordered veg chow mein got given meat which is no good for us so went in the bin. Tofu wasnt pressed so was very watery. Wasnt told on the phone we couldnt pay by card because their machine isnt working, by the time we had been told we had to get cash out the food had gone cold they hadnt bothered to keep it warm for us.
Where do I start? Lady on desk needs to be trained in manners! No flavour at all in the chicken with pineapple, mixed curry had 1 piece of chicken and 5 pieces of beef, chicken curry tasted like water! Portion size not worth the money! Gordan Ramsey would have a field day here! I would have liked to put no stars but had to put 1, will not be going back!
Food always fantastic, never a long wait and the lady behind the counter is always lovely and polite. My favourite Chinese :

Maybe we caught them on a bad day but I can't say anything good about the food, everything tasted greasy, the chicken balls were tough and the six other dishes that we had were tasteless. The service was fast and friendly. Sorry but we won't be going here again.
Lovely Chinese always hot & fresh. Prawn crackers are really authentic, You can taste they are fresh and not just from a packet!!! Love the chicken balls & the bbq spare ribs!!
The Oriental Chinese in Higher Bore Street is definitely my favourite in Bodmin. The parking is hit and miss along the road, but parking Futher down the road by the old library isn't an issue. Very friendly and chatty staff. Menu is extensive and had plenty of choice for everyone. Also English food too. You can phone the order through and collect, or just order on arrival. Waiting times normally 15 minutes or so. Can be longer during holiday season, holidays etc. Portions are very good, house special chow mein very good.
