Was recommended by locals and it was amazing. Really love the museum which covers geography, history, biology and even art. You could find so many interesting and amazing things inside an old, remarkable church like building. Facilities were sufficient and modern. Great place to spend a day thereVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
What a wonderful museum. There is literally something for everyone. My husband enjoyed the art galleries while I got lost in the natural history displays. Add this to your list. Admission is free, but don't forget to make a donation and visit the gift shop.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is an absolute must-visit! The extraordinary collection housed here is both vast and diverse, ranging from fine art masterpieces to fascinating historical artifacts. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated, offering something for everyone, whether you’re an art lover, history buff, or just curious to explore. The museum itself is beautifully maintained, with every gallery and display space immaculate and well-organized. The building’s stunning architecture adds to the overall experience, making it as much a part of the visit as the collections inside. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the experience with their insights. I can’t recommend Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum enough—it’s a cultural treasure that brilliantly showcases the richness of both art and history.
Amazing building and free entry which is great. I liked the art side more than the natural history side. Worth a visit albeit i would not need to spend a whole day here. Toilets are good and there is a cafe
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is a fantastic museum full of culture. The building itself is stunning, with its grand architecture and beautifully restored details making it feel like you’re stepping into something special. Inside, there’s a little bit of everything that keep things interesting. You’ll see a little bit of everything there. I loved the stuffed animals that looked so real. There are cafes and gift shops to make the experience more relaxing and comfortable. Definitely a place worth revisiting for another dose of its vibrant mix.
We loved it!!! You can easily spend a whole day there. There are e so much to see in Kelvingrove Art Gallery and museum and all these for free. So many sectors and so many artifacts, truly amazing! The building from the outside is a wonderful piece of art in itself. I walked around it taking in all its glorious design. Once inside the splendor continues when you are faced with the pipes of a magnificent organ. If you're lucky, there may be a performance. The galleries are excellent, go take a look. It's an absolute must if you're in Glasgow. I visited the basement cafe, just for coffee. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
Amazing, rich history. I particularly love expressions in art form. I had an amazing time in this museum, there was lots of information about the Maasai tribe from Kenya and I was proud to find pictures and information about our culture. Lots and lots to learn, every picture has a story to it, gives you more insight into the inspiration behind every piece of work. Amazing gallery. I will come back, I have fallen in love with Scotland
Excellent parking, although you do pay for parking. Lovely grounds and nice walk near the river. Free to get into the gallery, lift to access floors, cafe and gift shop. Welcoming staff. Just a lovely place to visitVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This place is amazing! It's also huge! Housing art galleries, natural history, Glasgow history, Egyptian artifacts and more. You'll need to allow at least two hours to explore this place. There's also a cafe think they stop serving food at 3? as well as a sandwich and cake area, the cakes by the way are bloody delicious. Also has toilets, a good sized shop and several benches to rest on as you explore the collection. Honestly if you can only fit one museum in your Glasgow trip, make it this one.
