Went as a group of 9, very calm and relaxing surroundings allowing you to be at ease throughout your whole time there. From the beginning staff members are super friendly and very attentative. It's very rare to meet people that genuinely remember each specific order per person and bring the food to those who have ordered a specific dish. Fantastic in that regards to avoid confusion. Chicken, beef and lamb are the halal options here though the chef did mention one of the beef dishes isn't so I would double check before ordering. The portion sizes for meals was slightly on the smaller side but the food quality was very good. We ordered a bit of everything and everything we tasted did not fall below expectations. Burst of flavours from a variety of dishes. The menu has a variety of options so choose to your hearts content. Pricing is reasonable, you will be spending more than you usually would but that is met by quality standards in staff and taste in food. Would I go here again, yes. Spent roughly 3 hours there and enjoyed the whole occasion.
Celebrated my husband's birthday there. Had an amazing three course meals - Chinese New Year menu. The dessert, " Chocolate does grow on trees" is to die for and must try dessert. Never had a sparkling alcoholic tea before and it was levitating! Definitely recommend it if you want a fine dining experience with authentic flavour food.
Our group of 6 enjoyed an exquisite afternoon tea experience at Kai Mayfair. The restaurant was very indepth decorated in exotic forest theme, paired with a table full of trinkets, birds and cute menus. We ordered the standard afternoon tea set. Staff were lovely and attentive, food was fun and delicious. We did not necessarily enjoy every single item, but among the highlights included the steamed egg and the veggie one. We requested extra for our fave, and they were happy to indulge us. The amount was plentiful and we were content. Would recommend.
We loved the afternoon tea at Kai Mayfair, and we particularly love to come over spring/ summer time. Good selection of food & drinks, pretty pretty tableware and food. Tastewise I’d give a 7/10 Asian savoury selection could be more outstanding. Service felt a bit rushed at afternoon tea. Would love to try out their dinner menu soon!
As an early birthday present, I was taken to my first Michelin star restaurant - Kai. We enjoyed a variety of starters and mains but skipped dessert as they only had sorbet for vegan desserts, which is quite disappointing considering it’s 2022… We had: Soft shell crab Salt & pepper tofu cubes ⏲ 18hr slow cooked pork belly with cucumber foam Sweet & sour pork Ginger & sesame fried rice Brocollini with shallots Jasmine chrysanthemum tea Despite it being a birthday celebration, there was a lack of enthusiasm and effort from the staff, so I wouldn’t say it quite matched the 15% service charge. They remembered a little birthday dessert just before we paid the bill but presented it to the wrong person. It didn’t quite have the finesse or cleanliness everything was dusty we were expecting but food wise I’d recommend the ginger sesame fried rice, tofu and 18hr pork belly.
Chinese Whispers afternoon tea @ Kai was awesome. Really fun and cute. Service and welcome was awesome. Lovely downstairs room which is well suited to a relaxing afternoon. All the food was very tasty and pretty as a picture. Will definitely have to try dinner next time.
Had a very enjoyable dinner at Kai. It has been years since we went here and it is still as good as I remember. It is pricey, but very good and a nice venue for a special occasion. Definitely worth a visit. Lots of vegetarian choices and great cocktails. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. There is a whole vegetarian section on the menu Parking: Lots of on street parking outside. Free after 6.30pm.
Nice resturant and friendly staff were there. The place need in advance booking to visit it. The food was good but not wow Chinese food where I liked the appetizers more than the main course. We have order different dishes but I like the on toast appetizers, shrimp, beef steak and chicken spicy. Worth to try and honestly the staff was super kind. Note: this place is one of Adele favourite resturant in London :
Was able to walk-in for a lunch here and it was fabulous. The waiters were very helpful and with eating a big and deep fried appetizer wasabi shrimp they did a quarter Peking duck which had a lot of meat. Wrapped it up with a tropical dessert that was refreshing!
Amazing food. Good prices. I have spent more money at restaurants that are not in Mayfair and are not Michelin Star. The prawn toasts and soy & honey lamb were the best dishes we ordered. Alcohol is a bit pricey but 50ml shots so it’s understandable. Beautiful restaurant and toilet facilities. Great ambience and decor. Our table was downstairs but I preferred it! Very secluded and romantic. I recommend!!!
