Story

Located opposite Grey's Monument with amazing views of the famous Grey Street, our Newcastle restaurant is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some delicious, fresh Italian food in the heart of the city centre.

Tuck into a dish or two from our seasonal main menu, a handmade pizza from our wood-fired oven, or an expertly made cocktail with nibbles in our bar. Or if you're looking for something a little different, our beautiful private dining room seats up to 16 people. Jamie's Italian in Newcastle is perfect for celebrating a special occasion and it makes a great spot for a business lunch or meeting.

Absolutely loved it here, really inviting staff and great atmosphere. I had the lobster ravioli which was gorgeous, cleaned the plate. My partner had the trout which he said was lovely too, we shared sides of kale which I thought the dressing was super tasty, really zesty. Caprese salad is another one of my favourites and was very nice and the polenta chips were cooked well and tasted great too. For pudding I had dark chocolate ice cream with a caramel sauce and praline which was a nice finish to the meal. Really recommend Jamie's Italian.
Not the best, not the worst, majority of the food was tasty and full of flavour, however.... Pate served on top of the bread made it soggy, the four cheese pizza was dry and bland, the mushroom ravioli was hard on the edges but filling had lots of flavour. Best part was dessert, chocolate filled sponge with vanilla ice cream, was totally yummy!! I don't usually find myself saying best part of a restaurant was the dessert. Then again only got a dessert as there wasn't enough in starter and main, perhaps a tactic to get you to buy more. Not sure if my wife and I will go again. Wouldn't pay the prices if wasn't for a gift card. Staff were friendly on the whole but looked stressed, service was pretty quick.
Very nice place the service was excellent warm cosy the food is so great I couldn't explain how brilliant it is if you could go there honestly I would go all the time everything is the best I give this place a 5 out of 5

I can’t not give this place 5 stars today. Faultless service. Pizza ace, gnocchi outstanding. Superb IPA guest ale when available. Very good Sunday Roast.
Went here for a Christmas meal, free prosecco and Christmas crackers all round, which was a great touch. We were a large group of 12, and every meal was cooked perfectly. Definitely would recommend.
Had a nice meal on my own here. Staff were very nice. Venue was good and I enjoyed my meal. Salmon Bruschetta starter in the picture and gnocchi after that.
Food was delicious. Staff trying everything possible to make you satisfy. Place is ambience and fantastic.
Food is fantastic, really friendly staff. Sometimes the service is slow, usually when it's busy though.
