Brilliant karting experience! Took my 15 yr old son today and we had a great session. Staff were friendly and helpful. The karts were awesome, quick, responsive and the boost buttons are fun too. Restaurant on site was ok, served a nice coffee.nnOnly 4 stars as it was expensive and ridiculously cold, you could see your breath whilst waiting to get on the karts - clearly the heating was inadequate, made it a little uncomfortable, especially for any spectators.nnWould definitely return though.
My family loved it! Some a nice energy. It is a kart but you still feel it like you are actually racing.
Very divided on my opinion of the F1 Drive Experience. Some aspects of the day I would give 5 stars, and the rest probably 1 or 2.nWe arranged to go on a Saturday and luckily the venue wasn't overcrowded or oversold at all, which was good. The staff are really not great at communicating, though. We felt lost in what we were supposed to be doing half of the time. There was barely any direction and we were wandering around confused, not knowing where to wait, stand/sit.nThe safety briefing was very informative but it is completely pointless when the rules don't actually stand once on the track. So many times my two children were crashed into, with my daughter being left with a very painful neck. The rules were that anyone driving recklessly or causing avoidable accidents would first be given a warning and then removed if they carried on. This did NOT happen. My son decided not to do the second round of racing due to the craziness of some drivers. It ruined the experience somewhat.nThe simulators were great, however. We booked in advance and got to go straight on them at our allotted time. The staff member was extremely helpful and made sure my children had a great time racing against each other. They expressed that they much preferred the simulator experience over the karting.nThe food and drink was also good and reasonably priced.nWe probably wouldn't return but somewhat enjoyed the experience. More monitoring on the karts is definitely needed.nThe venue can be quite cold, so definitely take a jacket/coat.
The most disappointing part for me was careless of staff regarding rules on track. It was mentioned few times - no worries, it’s contactless, you won’t be hurt. Guess what? I was bumped every loop by 2-5 other player and no one told to stop doing this. As result, I left experience with headache and bruise on the leg. We had super circuit elite session.
It`s ok, lacking some of the promised, and booked, features and the time was very process driven in getting you in and out rather than the whole experience.nBooked the Elite session.nnIn summary, good karts but lack of overall engagement from the staff and potentially danagerous instances missed on track. Parts from the paid package were missing.nnArrived to the very friendly receiption staff, told to come back to the changing area in 10 minutes. Went back and no one there to help with sizing of the jumpsuit so had to go and find someone, managed the right size on the second attempt.nTaken into the briefing room and shown the video then into the karts for the first session.nnWhile it was a qualifying session we wern`t told what we needed to do, it was actually the fastest lap that counted on the grid position.nnQuick break and back onto the session. Again didn`t realise that we needed to go around and stop in the grid, some direction would have been useful.nAnd off we went, the karts are good, wile not the fastest they are plenty fast enough for the circuit and to ensure you don`t end up going faster than the track allows.nnThere were instances where the marshall didn`t utilise the yellow warning lights and kart speed meaning you`d come up against a crash far too quickly and potentially danagerous. Someone on my session had been hit pretty hard from this occuring.nnThere was no chequered flag at the end of the session and we simply walked off, they took our helmets and that was that.nNo presentation as per the paid package or photos, everyone stood around for a couple of minutes and with no staff engaing we all simply went home.nnThe driver data they sent over was wrong and from a completely different session.nnWould i go again, probably not unless it was simply for a drive and then home. The additonal costs for items that simply didn`t happen would put me off along with the potential dangerous driving instances happening during the session through lack of marshall oversight.
