Return experience.nnI had a very poor experience at the returns desk with the managers in charge.nnFive days ago, I received a 4-seater Vimle sofa that arrived slightly damaged. Despite this, I was happy to keep the sofa, as delivery to a first-floor flat was quite difficult. However, I wanted to exchange the sofa covers for a different colour because the material of the ones ordered was not suitable for our needs.nnI contacted customer service by phone and was advised to visit the store, where they assured me the exchange would be processed without any issues. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the returns desk, I was told that three out of the 15–20 items did not have labels attached and therefore could not be accepted.nnWe reviewed the 365-day return policy together, and nowhere does it state that items must have labels attached. The policy clearly says that items must be unused and in good condition, which they agreed was the case. It also mentions that if items are in poor condition, IKEA may buy them back at a reduced price. Despite this, they refused to process the exchange.nnWhat is the point of offering a 365-day return policy if even a standard 14-day return cannot be honoured? This was a very disappointing experience with IKEA today.
Love the store and found a table we wanted. Ordering was easy. However after paying for the table to be put together for us, we were sent a text message to contact Taskrabbit to rearrange day for them to do that for us. We assumed that Ikea would sort that for us but we were left to deal with that. Never heard of them and it proved so difficult to do we ended up cancelling our order. They don't tell you about Taskrabbit at the time of ordering so be very clear if you order anything big that you need to be put together that the assistant explains these things to you.
Good trip. Made some purchases and ate in the restaurant, had my usual meatballs. They were were as good as usual and the restaurant and toilets were clean and could see staff cleaning and clearing all the time. The hotdog was awful tasted plastic the bun was hard and ketchup and mustard tasted chemically.
I believe my wife and daughters were punishing me for loud snoring the night before by forcing me to trail around this labyrinth of a shop. They wanted one item but somehow the IKEA hypnotism took hold and we ended up with a dozen or so random items we would never have sought to buy ordinarily; brilliant retail merchandising has to be commended. The one item I noticed was a set of office drawers that seemed good value but were of course out of stock; not so brilliant stock forecasting. The queues for the restaurant resembled 1980s Moscow supermarkets so no positives to balance out the experience of the seemingly never ending meandering route through the store.
The store is ok but the canteen ‘bistro’ is disgusting. I am surprised there are no rats. The toilets were cleaner. The photos are just a sample of how grim it is. Plus the food was cold.
