Staff are friendly and helpful.nThe shop itself is huge but well laid out, good amount of different shaped / size trolleys and baskets with great signage so you know where you need to go.nThe tills are mainly all self service now, but we had an issue where one of the plants we bought didn’t scan at the right price and we were attended too quickly.nAll in all it was good enough for me to recommend.
I visited B&Q west Thurrock today.nOne of the largest B&Q I have seen. Spacious car park.nThe shop floor is tidy, well organised, well stocked. Tools hire service available. Experienced staff. Garden center has sheds available, some are marked at discounted price.
I consider myself someone who’s a regular customer in the B&Q Lakeside branch especially recently where I’m currently in the middle of refurbishment. My average visit for the last 8 weeks would probably be 3 times per week.nnWhilst most visit are stress free due to self serve shopping experience , my recent visit on 22 Sept 2024 was very disappointing.nnHere’s the story.. I was returning a couple of items worth about £5.50 that I bought at the Tradepoint counter and was asking for a credit note since I lost my receipt I probably have it along with the bunch of other receipts I have kept in my car. I was asked politely by the service desk staff to take it to the Tradepoint counter. I then asked the staff to call Tradepoint via their headset to notify them of my arrival I didn’t want them to think I just pick it up from their shelf. She responded ‘no problem’. However as I was making my way towards the other side of the store where Tradepoint counter was, I was confronted by someone who asked ‘what are you trying to do’. I explained I that I was asked to bring my returns to the Trade Point counter. She replied ‘I’m the one in charge today’ and you can’t get a refund or credit note without a receipt. I was stunned by her tone and body language - unfriendly, rude and abrupt and offered no options. Since I was still due to purchase some luxury vinyl flooring in the store, I asked if I’m ok to shop with my return items bearing in mind, I had no receipt. She said ‘no’, you’ll have to take the item home and come back to shop in the store. At that point, my patience had ran out and decided to leave despite my main agenda of buying some flooring not achieved.nnAs I went back to the car, feeling as if I did something wrong to be treated the way she did, I found the receipt for one of the items in the car!nnWalked back to the store and told the lady in charge and she just told me to join the queue on the Returns Desk - again, abrupt and rude.nnGot my £1.50 back- hooray! Subsequently then purchased over £200 worth of luxury vinyl despite being upset for the way I’ve been treated.nnI am a very unhappy customer and won’t be seeing B&Q Lakeside anytime soon. I expect to be contacted to be rescued as a customer but let’s see if that gesture falls within B&Q customer care values.nnReceipt details:nDate 22 Sept 2024n14:33n1255 021 0039nnB&Q sort it out!
Would not recommend this branch. 18:27 on a sat and only two of the checkouts are working with a long queue forming. Why can’t they open more of the tills?
Very Nice place, loads of screws and bolts, cans of paint and wallpaper, everything that someone who's not lazy like me would love.nBrought some Slug Pellets that the App told me they no longer do and are not stocked in the stores anymore.nDon't know what I've picked up then?nScotch mist !
