We wanted a place for a single night stop over and found the perfect hotel! Yes, this is a Budget hotel, but it’s ideally located, easy to find and with free parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful when we arrived at 11pm, and the accessible room was great: VERY clean, with a spacious bathroom and comfortable beds and pillows. It was also very peaceful, which ensured a good night’s sleep! The continental style breakfast was extra, but worth the money. Everything was fresh, with plenty of choice and delicious coffee- a great start to our day, especially as we had a long journey ahead. Genuinely can’t fault it and will definitely book again.
Positives for the stay were that the Check in was easy, there was a kettle to borrow and a staff member found me a hair dryer to as I had forgotten to pack mine. Room was spotless. Negatives were unfortunately there is limited parking near IBIS put you can park for free over at B&Q. We found the breakfast was very disappointing for the money poor cold selection. I would recommend walking to TESCO next door for a better selection at a fair price. There was no body wash in the shower the only one was located near the sink . Rooms: Well equipped basic room Food & drinks: Breakfast is over priced for what's on offer
Stayed for one night with my son after the Portsmouth promotion and title celebrations. Room 308 was ideal for our needs Bed was comfortable. Slept OK. TV remote didn't work properly. Breakfast had a fair selection but for me the pastries, meat and cheese should have been covered up due to being out for a while. The milk could have been colder. The place was clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. Location was good and not much of a walk from Fratton Park Would stay again if needed to.
Good value of money for our 45£ stay. Junno provided great service to us on our arrival, great chap. Room is ibis budget standard with great shower. Note, if the hotel parking is full. You will be directed to park at B&Q just a minute across the road.
I stayed for 2 weeks. The staff are brilliant, extremely helpful. Being disabled I had a twin bed accessible ground floor room. Very clean and also comfortable beds. Unfortunately the toilet is extremely low and was very difficult to use. Plus I use. CPAP machine which meant I needed the bed furthest from the toilet. We borrowed a kettle and purchased our own coffee etc from the Tesco store which is just a very short distance away. Every one of the staff without question is extremely helpful. I only had breakfast on the last day and thought the price is a bit high for what it is. But it is easy to get a breakfast at Tesco or one of the other outlets, so no big deal. Despite the layout of the room and the low toilet I would definitely go back. The location was ideal and easy to reach in my wheelchair from the train station. Just 15 minutes. 2 minutes to Tesco or the KFC and McDonald's on the other side of the road. The staff went out of their way to help with any requests. I was also there on the night of the fire alarm. It was dealt with professionally by the staff. I can only praise each one of them. I shall be writing to the hotel chain to give them my tips on accessible rooms especially toilets for the disabled. Any disabled person would be wise to take something to extend it. Unfortunately if travelling by train with other medical equipment it is not possible. There are rails but whoever fitted them has little knowledge of the placement of them . I would have given 5 stars all round but the toilet is a huge handicap.
Check in went well. Pleased with the free parking. Room was clean but with a heavy smell of bleach. Beds were uncomfortable and sunken in the middle. Wasn’t a fan of the configuration of the room / bathroom. Overall disappointed with the accommodation for the price we paid.Rooms: 2/5
Excellent location next to Fratton Park for football and the great pubs and restaurants on and off the Albert Road. A number of convenient fast food outlets near the hotel, as well as a big Tescos with good cafe next door. Parking is also a big plus. Down side - and unacceptable, aside from not having coffee making facilities in the room - don't even offer facility in lobby/reception! Food & drinks: As above. Bottles and cans of alcohol in hotel lobby fridge - what self respecting person drinks in a hotel when so many decent pubs nearby - yet cannot be bothered to offer coffee/tea?!?
All the staff were so helpful. The room was very basic but that's an Ibis Budget. Need to bring your own kettle and tea/coffee.Rooms: 3/5
Paid for two rooms x 1 night £320, this place is 1990's spaceship decor. I would be upset if I paid £60 per room.Rooms: 2/5
Rather basic, stains on floor and bed base. Crawling insects in room Not in a good area, too rowdy and noisy. Air con only blows out warm air so room was too hot overnight. No tea and coffee in room Will definitely never stay again Rooms: Insects and stains
