A fabulous big, open park for walking, dogs, running, picnics and more.
Great place for a dog walk and a lovely reasonably priced cafe where you can get delicious snacks. Not far from M1 so a good alternative to service stations.
I'd not been to this lovely country park since childhood. It's surprisingly bigger than anticipated and well isolated from the road in places no noise other than the trees. The walk around the iron age fort is short but enjoyable and the snippets of history around the park are welcome.
With free parking and a little cafe on site the little country park offers a lot for the younger Walker. The path around it isn't too long, just less that 2km all the way around with plenty to see and do, including a play park. Definitely worth a look if you have an afternoon or morning to spare.
Great day out for children and adults. Loads to do. The children will rest easy tonight.nWater, fields, ducks, swans, playground. Can't be beaten. Grandparents and parents put your running shoes on! Once they are in this beautifully kept open space freedom ensues.
