I had an amazing stay here during my Hadrian’s Wall hike. Paula and Moira are both so kind, the breakfast was top notch, and my room was very clean and comfortable. Can’t recommend enough!Rooms: 5/5
If I could give Houghton North Farm Hostel 10 stars - I would! Don’t be fooled by the word ‘Hostel’ this is high end accommodation at a very reasonable price. I travelled with my nephew ‘Walking The Wall’ and we had 2 separate rooms with ‘en- suite’ to ourselves. The place was absolutely spotlessly clean and had everything that you would want. The beds were comfy, the radiators were very welcoming after a wet day and Paula is a fantastic host. The sitting room is wonderful and there is a large kitchen that again was very clean and fresh with tea & coffee on tap. I highly recommend this property to you. Paula’s bacon & egg roll was great for breakfast. Thank you to Paula for fantastic service and lovely accommodation.
We stayed here after our first day of walking the Hadrian's wall path. The facilities were fantastic, the beds were comfy and the shower facilities were great. The owner was extremely friendly and gave us loads of tips and advice for our walk. She also made us a delicious breakfast.Rooms: 5/5
Outstanding host offering the perfect location and accommodation when walking Hadrian's wall. I stayed with my family, wife and boys, 14 & 12 staying in a family room July 2023, spacious very clean excellent shower, beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast was personally cooked fresh by owner who couldn't do enough for us and our boys, superb host. Great stay local knowledge priceless, we will be back, superb value thank you.

We arrived late after our first day of walking from Wallsend. I remembered to call and warn Paula and Jeff that I would be late, which wasn't a problem. Paula greeted us and gave us the run down on the hostel, including the lounge and kitchen. Our room was a 3 bed with ensuite so perfect for my small party. The room was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. Included with our stay was a breakfast, which included a bap, cereal, and fruit. It was more than ample to get us going in the morning. Our hostess, Paula, was amazing. She gave us many good suggestions for places to stop on our walk and cautions if we felt too tired or needed a break. I was suffering with a sore back, and she had noticed. We appreciated her advice for sure. I would say that we received very good value and I would not hesitate to stay again. In fact, I would choose this hostel over hotels I stayed at recently.
What a fabulous place to stay and what wonderful hosts Paula and Jeff are. The phrase "Nothing is too much trouble" is perfectly apt here - Paula was an absolute STAR - so kind and thoughtful, incredibly helpful and informative. Such a warm welcome. The accommodation is simply superb - spotlessly clean, very comfortable, quiet and homely. I will visit the area again from the South West, if only to stay at Houghton North Farm again and explore the surrounding area further. Thank you Paula, Jeff. Regards. Lovely, clean and modern bunk room not far off the Hadrians Wall Way featuring a great breakfast and most importantly some great advice from Paula and other guests. A real joy. Two pubs locally for dinner or a well deserved pint.Rooms: 5/5
Our first night stop walking the wall. Very fun place, Paula was an excellent host and the story of the farm was so interesting. plenty of room for a yoga stretch and next day planning. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
I was walking on the Hadrian's Wall path and was trying to find a place to sleep and avoid a big raining. Hopefully, I fall on this place the 20 July. The owner was very nice with me and the place charming with all I needed. she gave me good advises to find my next accommodations on the way. The breakfast was nice. She offers me several choices. The pancakes, the fruit, fresh coffee and orange juice gave me all the energy to keep going my walking. Thanks a lot and see you next time maybe! Hervé the French man
