What a fabulous pub/restaurant. Atmospheric and attractively furnished. Delightful, attentive and proficient staff and a varied menu. Every meal that was delivered to tables looked delicious and our food was certainly that. More expensive than some pubs but most definitely worth it. There is obviously a loyal customer base and was at almost full capacity whilst we were there, from 12.45 till 16.00 on a Sunday.

Nice gastro pub beautifully decorated for Christmas. Having heard good reviews I was really looking forward to dining here with friends but was somewhat disappointed with my meal as were several other of my fellow diners. Turkey dry & tough, Yorkshire Lamb partly fatty, Duck not pink, Lentil bake bland, Fish Pie lacked sauce and not much fish, starters were fine as were desserts but considering the menu is quite expensive I had high expectations which unfortunately were not exceeded. I would however say service was good and food was brought out in reasonable time. Would I return? Maybe but not in a hurry.
Food was lovely, but service wasn't efficient. Table was booked for 3 30pm, we were seated at 4pm. Between starters and mains was 30 minutes and another 25 for pudding. It would of been 5 stars if not for this
Lovely friendly place, the food was sensational and the chocolate brownie melted in your mouth, live 10 mins away for 8 years can't believe I've never been, I will most certainly be back thank you Hotham arms
We are up from the south and dined here last night as a birthday treat. All I can say is that I wish this pub was my local. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and service. Totally top notch nosh at great prices which is super important given the times we live in. Will certainly be back!
Had a great family meal with the staff being so considerate due to needing some Gluten free food. Good to know they have separate friers for GF food preparation. Great beer, food and prices, staff couldn't have been better. Would recommend, thank you.
The Hotham Arms stands out from the crowd when it comes to pub restaurants. They offer high quality food, good value for money, and with a good range of meat and fish options. Beth, our server, and the chef were fantastic and very accomodating to our needs as vegetarians. The outdoor nooks are very cosy whilst giving you the chance to enjoy the sun. The decor is tasteful and traditional with some whacky elements, like doors for table tops outside or clowns hanging from the ceiling! My advice for them to push this to the top for me is... Be more adventurous with your vegetarian choices! Butternut squash risotto and mushroom stroganoff are the uninspiring standard I see on many vegetarian menus. We came for the very unique "veggie cakes" promised on your website and you'd taken them off your menu! though many thanks for making them anyway!!! Without a doubt though, would recommend for a casual meal or special occasion!!!
We were the only ones eating as it was mid afternoon but the food was excellent. I had an halloumi starter and my son had an amazing mushroom soup. I followed up with the ploughman's lunch which was massive and delicious, my husband had the sausage and mash and declared the mash was the best he'd had for a long time. The service was very good too. Well worth a visit.
Service 10/10, atmosphere/environment 10/10, food 12/10. Had a great evening with really great food!
