A lovely day out for the family, ample parking, lovely views of the Mere and wildlife. A small cafe serving a variety of food. Kids menu is a little pricey for what you get, £4.50 for just 1 sausage and chips. However the staff were friendly and the toilets were clean. The highlight of the visit was the boat trip, it was to windy for a rowing boat. Instead we were passengers on a small motor boat and had a 25min tour of the Mere. Really interesting guide and the kids even got to have a go steering the boat! Will be returning soon.
Beautiful place with lots of history. The cafe is well run with a great selection of food and cakes. The boating is fantastic really good prices for a 30 min round trip of the lake. Highly recommend for a morning out.
Great coffee and cake. Lemon & poppyseed cake was delicious. Staff were lovely, helped us grab everything a bring it inside when it started raining.
Beautiful views and a nice little walk. Lots of ducks and swans and geese to feed. Lovely little gift shop that sells local items. Cafe serves really nice tasty good quality food, deserts and hot and cold drinks. Recommend a visit.
Really nice cheesy chips, good size portions and they do takeaway as well. Closed on Mondays but otherwise nice place for food and to watch the world fr - though it was a bit windy today, would visit again :
We've been here a few times and would say for the price, the food options aren't amazing. You are looking at paying a fair bit for what some would say are basic meals. BUT there are some unique dishes and if you're wanting to 'push the boat out'. there are plenty of things to try. The staff are always nice. The coffee is good, hot and the scenery is great. Overall it's a nice place to come if you and the family just want to get away and chill. They do let dogs in, it's not a big place, but the seating is not cramped either.
OK its an old wooden building and the Café is only open at the weekend during the winter but the food is good, cakes are tasty. I recommend the steak pie and chips. Proper pie and nice chips. The servers are excellent.Food: 5/5
A nice place to relax and take in the view's of the Mere. Free parking boat trips café in old fashioned surroundings
Visited the Mere in the late afternoon, so, sadly, missed the Cafe. It was beautiful and peaceful and there were lots of benches to sit on at the water's edge.
We only had drinks and cake but it was a nice place to visit on a grey dayFood: 4/5
