One of London's most famous live music venues.

Story

Situated in Islington and a stones throw from Highbury & Islington tube station, The H&A is a magnet for the music lover where legendary bands like U2, The Police, The Stranglers and Madness first started out. Rock jukebox in the main bar. We put on live music events on several nights a week and have a theatre upstairs.

Brilliant pub and small venue. Plenty of drinks choices. Music venue in basement is a great size, and sound quality was good. Only lost one star because the air conditioning wasn't working when we visited As December Falls, Feb 2020 and it was ridiculously hot! Otherwise would highly recommend.
Really disappointed with this place, the ‘substantial meal’ took ages to be delivered to our table and even when they brought it out it was 15 mins apart, not talking about the taste which was terrible. Would NOT recommend this place.

Was here in feb for as December falls good venue , air con was playing up but short term . Great staff
Went to see Playmaker - great venue and sound - the sound man did a fantastic job, leaping about to adjust things and keep everything clear. Had a fab evening
Saw local japanese musicians play at this venue. Very small but great view of the stage
Great venue for live shows. Stunning PA. Excellent crew and good choice of beers too.
Iconic boozer, theatre upstairs, live music in the basement.
