We had the most incredible baby shower at this awesome venue yesterday. It was the perfect spot for a small gathering, and the service was absolutely amazing! I can't say enough good things about Manuel, Rachel, and Chris. They went above and beyond to make our day extra special and were so incredibly helpful throughout the entire event. It was truly an unforgettable experience!
A fun pub for outside socialising during summer. Fine for drinks if you don't mind a longer wait at the bar I waited about 10 mins; would not recommend food expensive for what you get; quality is not good. I got the "nachos" - which should be advertised as tortilla chips, as there's not much else with them minimal guac, pico de gallo, sour cream; found a small amount of melted cheese at the bottom. Couldn't eat much as they were unbearably oily, and in desperate need of accompaniment. The £6 chicken side dish consisted of the smallest chicken strips I've seen to date - we thought at first it was the incorrect order see picture. Baked sourdough was good. Unfortunately, we left feeling ripped off.
We booked out the conservatory area at the back of the pub for a book launch event and it was absolutely perfect! I can't recommend this space enough, it's so gorgeous and atmospheric. The staff are so helpful and kind, they really did everything they could to make the night special. The food was 10/10 we couldn't ask for anything more! Vegetarian options: We selected the vegetarian buffet option for an event and it was incredible! We received so many compliments about the food and it was so tasty - I would highly recommend!
We celebrated our friend's 60th birthday in the reserved conservatory area. A lovely environment and great atmosphere. There were lots of drinks to choose from and a nice food menu with lovely roasts on offer on Sundays. Vegetarian options: Lovely nut roast on a Sunday.
We came for the quiz, and we won the quiz. For starters, we went outside for a cigarette and someone took all of the drinks off our table Including an unfinished bottle of wine, and two beers. Then we had a good time at the quiz, and we won the bar tab of 50 quid. Then we were told there was a bonus CASH jackpot worth 10 times the bar tab which we had battle 12 teams over 2 hours to win. This was a choice of one in three question, which we didn't get correct, and then the second team got their question correct Why was that question 10 times easier than the actual quiz questions. It completely ruined the night for us, and even though we won the quiz, we then felt like the losers. Not fair at all. All that happened is that won a bar tab that would barely get us back the drinks that were taken off us by the staff when we went outside for 5 minutes. Also the toilets were foul.
Nice pub with ample seating both outside and inside. The main bar area played great throwback tunes, and with various areas for seating available, it’s perfect for a meal or a little dancing and drinks. We made reservations for dinner for 8 just hours before mealtime on a Friday but were able to get a seat. The staff were all kind and friendly! Dietary restrictions: When ordering food, the staff immediately asked us about dietary restrictions which was much appreciated!
A great pub. If the weather is fine, there appears to be seating for approx 1.2 million people. Inside looks pretty good too. Lots of room for drinking or eating. Good range of beers with doombar and landlord on cask. A most fine establishment.
Used to come regularly circa 2017-18 when I last lived in the area and the beer garden was non-existent / a quarter the size of what it is now! Incredible transformation and a great venue for watching the Euros outside. Both bars were well staffed and the wait was minimal despite how busy it was. Pint prices are a little steep but competitive for the area given H&I station is just up the road so the pub is in a bit of a thoroughfare.
Nicely located bar with great beer garden for the hot weather! Sadly, we weren't overly impressed with the Sunday Roast or the service received from the staff. In addition, the price of a shandy was the same as a standard pint... Better options elsewhere around Highbury & IslingtonFood: 3/5
Perfect location for a 30th celebration. The food was excellent and the staff were super helpful. I booked out the conservatory which was perfect for a group of ~45-50 people, with the bonus of having a private outdoor patio section as well. Highly recommend booking your next party here!Food: 5/5
