Story

HOME is a place for curiosity seekers, for lovers of the dramatic, the digital and the deeply engaging, for radicals and reciprocators, in the heart of Manchester.

Our two theatres are a playful platform for new, commissioned work. Our five cinema screens light up with challenging, independent, provoking films. The gallery space is home to the very best in contemporary art. The food is delicious.

HOME is for everyone. We like to think of it as a place where you can engage with other arts lovers through our exciting and inspiring events. That goes for our Facebook page, too. Here, we’ll be sharing images, videos and other updates from our theatres, exhibitions, cinemas, events, bookshop, bar and restaurant.

We’d love to hear from you about how we’re doing, so please post any questions or comments to our wall.

Visited the Art exhibition which was great lots of different pieces of Art by all kinds of Artists. The exhibition is free entry but you can donate when leaving.Well worth a visit.
Absolutely wonderful, enjoy the drama, the storyline, and the vibrant costumes and colours. The live background music was amazing
I have only visited the bar here and not seen any productions. The bar serves a wide range of drinks including a nice selection of non alcoholic drinks. The bar staff were nice and friendly and happy to make a custom drink. Would recommend as a good place to take a breather while in Manchester.
We had our wedding at HOME, and it was the most beautiful venue for an urban wedding. From day one, Steph, the events coordinator, was absolutely fantastic, ensuring that we had the most relaxed and perfect day. She was always responsive and friendly, making the planning process a breeze. On the day of the wedding, Steph and Felix, along with the rest of the staff, did a wonderful job. Their coordination was seamless, and we are so grateful for their efforts. Most importantly, the food was incredible—our guests are still talking about how amazing it was, even a month later. The cinema is also great and always have a nicely curated selection. The outside space is very enjoyable on a sunny day with a pint.
My favourite cinema in the world. Love the atmosphere here, fantastic listings, fantastic selection of events and screenings, such an incredible hub for the community and culture in Manchester. Great staff and customer service as well. Love it. Can’t recommend it enough.
Really enjoyed my trip to HOME. We came to see 'Strike: An Uncivil War' and had a couple of beers before hand. The bar had a brilliant selection of local beers. The building and outside seating area was lovely. Staff were really nice. Only reason for a 4 rather than 5 was that the seats felt quite small for a feature length film and you have a plastic cup to drink outside.
I can't praise HOME Mcr enough for what they do for me and my company. I host Actors and Filmmakers Networking Events and have held 26 events at time of writing this review in the Events Room. The staff are seriously INCREDIBLE. From events manager Steph Livesey, to the amazing bar staff who work so hard. If you are aiming to hold an event, make sure you get in touch with HOME Mcr and let them help you make your event a success.
A cultural gem that never fails to impress. Nestled in the heart of the city, HOME stands as a beacon of artistic excellence, offering a diverse array of performances, films, exhibitions, and events that cater to every taste and interest. My visits always left me in awe of its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to showcasing innovative and thought-provoking work. From groundbreaking theatrical productions to cutting-edge independent films and captivating art exhibitions, there's always something exciting happening here. The theater's state-of-the-art facilities provide a comfortable and immersive experience for audiences, while its welcoming staff go above and beyond to ensure that every visitor feels valued and appreciated. One of the highlights of my visits was the opportunities to catch live performances in their intimate theater spaces. They also boasts a world-class cinema program, featuring a curated selection of films from around the globe. Whether you're a fan of indie flicks, foreign cinema, or Hollywood blockbusters, there's something for everyone to enjoy on the big screen. The theater's commitment to diversity and inclusivity is also evident in its programming, with a strong emphasis on amplifying underrepresented voices and perspectives. It's refreshing to see a cultural institution that actively seeks to engage with a wide range of communities and explore pressing social issues through the arts. Overall, my experience at HOME is nothing short of extraordinary. It's a dynamic and inspiring space that celebrates the power of storytelling and fosters meaningful connections between artists and audiences. Whether you're a seasoned theatergoer or a curious newcomer, a visit here is sure to leave a lasting impression.
My favourite place in Manchester, beautiful building and lovely specious interior. Cinema, gallery, theatre venue, restaurant and coffee bar.
First time visiting HOME this weekend. Really lovely venue, buzzing atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon. Great performance. Theatre seats aren't overly comfortable for a two hour performance they are fold out benches but we coped and would definitely return. Updating after our second visit - this time we were in Theatre 1 with much more comfortable seating and a more traditional stage space. Parked at nearby Q Park. Very convenient and fairly priced.
