Straight off the train is easily a 5 min walk to the hotel. Super clean. Staff were / are brilliant, very friendly from cleaners, breakfast staff, front desk to bar area. Great for Harry Potter. Bath rooms well equipped. Cozy rooms. Would 100% stay here again, even if going into London for the weekend.
I stopped at Holiday Inn Watford Junction for a night before heading into London. The hotel's location is excellent, being only a few minutes' walk from the train station. You can reach central London in just 20 minutes.nnThe check-in was quick and efficient, and the rooms were clean and well-appointed. There was everything you could need for a comfortable stay, and I thought for the price we paid it was good value for money.nnAs we were Diamond members of IHG Rewards, I was also able to access their breakfast as part of the stay. It was very nice, with plenty of hot and cold options to choose from.nnOverall, the stay was pleasant and good value for money. Its location is excellent for travelling into London quickly, and also for the various attractions in the local attractions.
Very pleasantly surprised by my stay here! Fantastic service from Eric during check-in, as a solo female I really appreciated him not saying my room number out loud at the front desk - not sure if intentional or just Holiday Inn policy but this was really reassuring. The room was lovely, decorated tastefully and comfortable bed. Super clean, especially the bathroom which also has a selection of Dove products that felt very luxe for what I was expecting. I only stayed one night and didn't dine there so can't comment on much else.nOnly slight issue is the lack of chain lock on the room doors - made me a little nervous travelling solo so next time I'd bring my own travel lock.
My sister and I have just spent 4 nights here and we have been really impressed with our stay. The location is brilliant with Watford Junction and the Harry Potter shuttle bus being located at the end of the road. Deep on reception checked us in and assisted us a few times with different queries. He was really helpful and polite. We used room service twice during our stay and the staff were always prompt and friendly. We also ate and drank in the bar on several occasions and we were particularly impressed with Irene I hope this is how it is spelt! as she was so friendly and attentive, really going above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after.nThe room was clean and air conditioned which we appreciated a great deal. The bath plug was broken but upon speaking to reception we were immediately offered another room. The pillows are also quite hard. Overall, very much recommend this Holiday Inn!
Holiday Inn has a pillow guarantee see attached photo. However, the manager of this hotel had told me that in his entire hotel, he was only able to send 1 hard pillow to our room. I can't believe that a brand as strong as Holiday Inn only has 1 hard pillow in the entire hotel. This pretty much defies their pillow guarantee.nnWe also booked to have a 3 person room with an extra bed provided. However, they only provided 2 bottles of complimentary water. When we asked for a 3rd, they said they need to charge us for an extra bottle. Meanwhile, the hotel we just checked out of gave us extra water because of our 3 person booking.nnI'm interested to know what corporate office thinks and feels about how this location is run. This place just baffles my mind. Wow. Just wow. ‍
