Very clean comfy bed. Lovely breakfast. Staff are helpful and friendly. The only thing is you have 2 people sharing a room only one chair. First time at holiday inn express. Value for money. Plenty of plug sockets 24 hour food serviceRooms: 5/5

Appallingly noisy. Room 102 for one night. Needing an early start in the morning to get 8am ferry. Alarm set for 6am. Party going on in foyer when we got in at 10pm. Noise travelled directly through the wall into the bedroom. At 11.45pm I phoned Reception to ask when it was going to stop. “Yes, it is a bit noisy. I’ll ask them to stop”. Another 15 mins of music - then all the doors banging and people shouting and screaming as they departed. Peace…. Until 3 am When we were woken by an all night disco !! If I could have left then I would, but had nowhere to go. This music continued throughout the night and was still going at 5.30 when we gave up the battle and got up. Glad to leave - but shattered. Having said that, the man on Reception in the morning was extremely sympathetic to our moans. And, the girl on duty on arrival was bright, cheerful and helpful. Unsurprisingly - we won’t be planning a return visit.
Great location, great staff. We stopped in today, 6th May. The young lady on reception was wonderful, and a massive credit to your team was very helpful. The place is clean and tidy. It's just off the main A27, so it's very easy to get, too. It's worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere to stay.Rooms: 5/5
Main reason for my review is to let others know that there is an alternative to the expensive parking directly outside the Holiday Inn. As you turn into the hotel there is a Portsmouth City Council car park behind the Shell Garage. This one is only 50p an hour between 10 and 4. Our room was clean and the bed comfy. Breakfast was good especially as it is included. Any staff we spoke to were friendly.
Absolutly brilliant location Nice and clean Staff are happy to help if you can find someone. Receptionist always there to help though Which is good as you want peace and quiet so no staff chattering. Free breakfast which was included in stay. Perfect relaxing.
Thought it would be an ideal place to stay, how wrong was I! Started getting worse when you had to pay for parking even after paying over £100 for a night with breakfast, Stains on the floor, on the office chair, wall has damaged paper, but the curtain was the worst, not only did it have tears in it, but the back of the curtain had such a stain, that I don't know that last time they were washed, let alone checked? For such a cost and such a brand, how are the rooms not checked properly and professionally?
Room was great, clean, comfortable and everything present and correct. Check in unprofessional service. Car parking chargeable and far from simple pay online only arrangement. Breakfast best avoided even though included with room rate! Food & drinks: Breakfast included but low quality mass produced and self service is not for the feint hearted.
2nd year of coming here on business, 2 week stay. Room was quiet, comfortable and clean. Maid service was daily and thorough. Reception staff were freindly and helpful. Parking is plenty. If you're staying in or near Portsmouth, I would recommend here.Rooms: 5/5
