The room was adequate as we were only there for short periods of time on our two night stay. The room was clean but quite small. Our biggest complaint was the breakfast . It was disgusting. Something large and black came out in my orange juice. There was a bowl of oranges that were clearly too old to be eaten and there were long hairs in the bowl. The latte out of the machine was not drinkable. So do not stay here for the free breakfast. We couldn’t eat there either day after seeing that.
Stayed overnight for a nearby gig at Clapham Grand less than 20 mins walk away. The reception staff were lovely. Friendly, welcoming and efficient. The room was small not a problem and very clean. Great shower and the bed was super comfortable. Got a great night’s sleep and was rested and refreshed for my trip home. Breakfast was reasonable, but the coffee needs sorting Holiday Inn. The machines are not the best hence the one star drop. Nothing deal breaking however and I’d stay there again.
The hotel itself is in a bit of an odd location for tourists but fantastic for people working in the area or those fancying a commute into town to explore . Check in was quick and efficient, no issues and Knowledgeable staff . The room ... very spacious, comfy bed, sofa was decent enough, bathroom spot on and all was very clean, one reason I didn't give 5 stars ... no plug sockets by the bed, that's about the only downside to the room ... lack of plug sockets . One thing that really did make me think wow in a bad way 5.40 for a 440ml can of Guinness, wasn't even cold. Hotel perfectly adequate for a night or two just don't drink in the bar. Rooms: Needs more plug sockets and some by the beds Food & drinks: Bar very expensive
The facility old and staff is need training. I have reserved in jun for the new year with cheap prices and after two months they upgraded me without my authorization increasing the by £500 for the total. When it get closer the price four times so they cancel my reservation without contacting me. I have stayed with them 2010 and noticed they staff are not great with people and when I call them to explain the cancellation issue, they acted as it is never reserved and asked to book with for the new prices that I can get greater place 4-5 star in London and cheaper than them. I would not recommend it at all
Payed £365 for a room with 2x double beds. The carpet desperately needed a wash it had obviously been hoovered but was filthy and the extractor in the bathroom was completely clogged with dust. I put the shower on it and loads came out but it was still caked. I mentioned to reception in the morning I hadn’t done it before as we had got in late with young children. Receptionist made a note of it but wasn’t bothered. Beds comfy, breakfast good. No way worth the amount we paid.
We had a great time here! Our room was super clean with everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn't great but we got what we needed from it every morning. Would definitely stay here again! Walkability: Short walk to Wandsworth Station and a few different bus stops.
We had the worst breakfast experience ever and overall stay wasn't great. The majority of the staff are helpful and trying to do their best but you can clearly see that they are fed up by their attitude and lack of professionalism. I was given the wrong type of room thankfully after insisting a few times we changed rooms but that wasn't quite a smooth start. We encountered a battle field instead of breakfast area for 4 mornings with no sufficient staff, no sufficient food, no coffee, no cutlery not even space and tables. The hotel is huge but the restaurant and kitchen are definitely not prepared to serve so many guests. It seems that this situation is not recent either so I don't know what the management is exactly thinking and not sorting this out. We have stayed in many Holiday Express hotels and never had any issue, that was a complete disappointment from the brand and waste of money.
Let's be honest. This is a Holiday Inn Express. If you're staying here, you aren't paying for spa centres and gyms, so why do some people think that they should mark a budget hotel down for being a budget hotel. The staff are friendly yet professional. The rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. What else do you expect.Rooms: 5/5
