Reasonably priced car park. The sat nav took us down the road, but a quick look on Google maps takes you straight to it. Spaces for 15 cars approximately. There are walks from here... Along the water.. Do cross the bridge and around the corner there is an old blacksmiths, and a cafe. Toilets. Old train workshops Of which you can visit. It's a great place to start from. You can also reach black rocks from here too, but its a good 40 minute walk and alot of uphill walking.
Was here for work, but always a nice place.
Lea Road was closed but the diversion signs were woeful. Our first disaster was to follow the brown signs for Crich Tramway Museum but Lea Road was closed as we later found out from the museum staff 2 years ago. We reached the Museum via the A6. Our return journey again took a different way through Holloway village but back to the opposite end of Lea Road & why I took this photo. Bit late to tell us the road was closed. Apparently locals know about this closed road but visitors obviously not.
Nearly fully restored for the public to visit inside Aqueduct Cottage, amazing to see how far the cottage has come along over the past 3 years!
Used this car park on Sunday perfect location to start the high peak trail the machine was broke so didn’t have to pay although £4.80 for the day isn’t bad . it’s a very steep hill to walk up from this car park! people wanting to avoid the hill I suggest parking at black rocks car park.
Good location for easy access onto the nearby canal to take you to Cromford Mills and Matlock Bath. We found plenty of spaces in mid week. I thought the car park was free not knowing the area and we had spotted the tiny blue sign at ground level on entry. It was only on returning from a lovely few hours that we then saw the pay & display sign in the lower part of the car park. We had parked near to the entry and this sign is no where near the entrance and is not positioned well for you to spot on entry. Very poor so if you’re reading this you’re forewarned as we weren’t. Should be clearer bigger signs at the entrance. There’s a lovely cafe as you drop onto the canal with outdoor seating and toilets. The down side of this location is the strong smells you have to endure from the sewage plant which you have to pass by. I’ve given 3 stars because of the poor signage for pay & display as you enter the car park.
Nice little car park just a little walk from a snack / coffee shop. Pay machine only takes coins though!
A great place to park and walk, have a coffee, and enjoy the scenery. The canal is great for wildlife, and it's only a mile to Cromford wharf where there is lots to enjoy, and Arkwright Mill.
Great place to park for the high peak trail
Pay and display carpark conveniently located for a walk on the Cromford canal, viewing the Leawood Pump House or if you're feeling fit, climbing to the top of the Middleton Incline.
