Great wee homely pub/restaurant in Athlone town centre. Lovely warm welcoming fire to greet you as you walk in. Lovely food. The steak is the best ive tasted in a long time! The staff are lovely and so attentive. Great soundtrack playing and the craic was good
First time being in since the new guys took over. Prawn starter was fantastic, literally perfect. Ordered rare steak, got medium to well done, chips were nice, pepper sauce was a bit watery,I prefer a thicker sauce though. Very busy Saturday evening but still should be able to cook a rare steak.
Lovely setting and location. Staff were nice. Food for me was disappointing, salad wasn't fresh, Thai fish cake wasn't heated enough it was cold in the centre. The 10oz steak was very nice, good quality but under cooked for my taste, ordered well done, but not close to it. Desert was very nice. Other members of the party enjoyed their meal. The pub upstairs is one of the best in the town to go for a social drink afterwards
Both myself and my partner require gluten free food one is coeliac and one intolerant, but there was no issue with the servers explaining the options, and the kitchen arranging for our food. It was super tasty, prompt and great value for money. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Kitchen are excellent at providing for all dietary requirements.
Had dinner saturday 4th march. Veg portion was reheated. Potates were at least a day old. Breezy window seat table with an old extractor fan not working letting in cold air. First and last time there.
