The ownership/management has changed since our last visit. Gone upmarket and very busy. Food arrived quickly even when nearly every table was occupied. Food quality good and staff attentive. Good overall and we will return hopefully soon. Walkability: Great walks in the surrounding countryside.
We stopped in today after a dog walk, the new owners and staff are lovely and place has recently been completely renovated, very traditional and well done. The new menu all sounds fantastic, we tried the soup, scotch egg and chips, all tasted great and were well presented. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem!
Has to be the best meal I have eaten since arriving in the UK. We were 'walk-ins" but they graciously accommodated us. Service was great, food was outstanding. Well worth the drive. Food & drinks: Braised lamb shoulder, crushed potatoes, asparagus and caper sauce
Absolutely brilliant stay, food was exceptional,we had prawns to start then I had cheese souffle and my husband had the lamb ,followed by black treacle and date steamed pudding with clotted cream.all delicious and beautifully served. Our room was very nice a good size and a really good sized en suite with corner shower , it was spotless we will definitely be back
Thoroughly enjoyed the medium rare steak they prepared. The cheese pie with crispy kale was delicious too. Restaurant staff were very friendly and it wasn’t very noisy/rowdy during dinner time.
You could shut your eyes and stick a pin in the menu and be happy. Everything is delicious and well worth the price. Every time I eat here I say ‘that was the best I’ve tasted’ it’s true. Best ham hock, best lamb, best Cauli flour soup , best sticky toffee/treacle . Don’t think twice. Just book yourself a table
The pub has been absolutely transformed since it's changed hands, the food is absolutely superb. The cheese souffle I had was absolutely incredible and my wife's roast beef was the best she's ever had. I can't recommend the Halfway enough.
Took my parents for dinner there and the food and service was excellent. Imaginative menu not just pub grub and I highly recommend trying the warm scotch egg with pickled walnut sauce. Pub had a great atmosphere with some people having dinner and others stood by the bar and in the snug area. Dogs are welcome. There’s some great walks from Kineton so a good place to reward yourself with some great food afterwards.
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Very crispy and fried perfectly. And the Mushroom pie was fabulous! Would definitely come again!Rooms: 5/5
Fantastic pub in the heart of the Cotswolds with very welcoming landlords. Lovely menu serving great food and excellent beers, the ham hock was amazing. Accommodation was superb, very comfortable beds and well presented, breakfast in the morning was lovely. A real treat and to get away for a night and excellent value too.
