Stopped for lunch. Brie and smoked bacon with onion marmalade filled ciabatta. Had the skin on fries on the side, with salad too. Hit the spot. Tasty , good portion size and friendly service. Liked eating near a toasty open fire. Could see outside there was a nice beer garden that would be great in the summer.
Quaint and lovely, great food and good gluten free selection. Was very confusing where and how to order food and took a bit of time to get served when it was busy plus hard to find WHERE to sit and order but once we were settled outside it was worth the confusion :
Prestbury is known to be one of the most haunted areas in England. This pub has it's own ghost stories. So we thought we would try it out for our Halloween dinner! It did not disappoint! Great food and atmosphere. :
Nice little pub. Two rooms, very old, lit open fireplace in one. Lovely simple orchard garden out back.
The Plough is our choice when lunching with family or friends, and has been for a couple of years. We always receive a warm welcome to occupy, by booking ahead, our favourite corner of the Tap Room. The menu is good 'pub food' which, despite choosing a variety of dishes, never disappoints. The prices are perfectly acceptable. The Ham and egg particularly is as good as it gets. The chocolate ice cream "is to die for". Service is friendly and as quick as careful preparation of the food allows. On busy days it takes a little longer but that is to be accepted.
Huge improvement ! The Plough has gone from very average to excellent. Excellent seating in the garden with good seating distancing and excellent service. Prices now seem average rather than previous expensive. Well worth a visit on a clement day. Well done.
Stunning country pub, great food and great selection of drinks. Staff exceptionally friendly and hospitable
Brilliant old pub in a lovely village setting, even has a proper old church opposite. The beers are second to none and served straight from the cask no hand pumps. A fair walk from Cheltenham but really worth the effort.
Still a fabulous looking pub, great beer garden and range of beers. Friendly service BUT what has happened to the kitchen. We have been unable to dine their 5 times recently as they are BUSY despite not being. Not even able to offer chips. They literally do not want to make money. Totally ruined what was the heart of the village , strolling down grabbing a beer and bite to eat at any time but not anymore. Real shame, will still visit as lovely in many ways but sort your kitchen out please.
Always one of the highlights when visiting for the racing is the trip to The Plough. Whether it is the pre-race drink, which quite often means missing the first race as we have to stay another, or the debrief after, it really is a must visit. Always good ales and a friendly welcome.
