Easily the best pub in the east of Cambridge. They have an amazing beer garden on the cam with staff constantly bussing tables. The food is amazing its a blend of pub food and Turkish food done really well, they also have an amazing Sunday roust highly recommend going. The staff always look allittle grumpy but they are actually very friendly. The one down side is the beer selection is not that big.
Loved it! Historical rare gem in the shire! Great atmosphere, delish food, friendly, attentative staff.
Nice pub with history & Friendly staff, loved sitting in the beer garden next to the river.
a nice pub with a lot of character. Aesthetic is nice and plays up to it's links to Tolkien well. Fantastic outdoor space and some interesting staff. mostly kind, attentive, but certainly quirky. But I suppose that matches the pub.
We had a very pleasant experience at the Green Dragon last night. The pub is cosy and welcoming, two adjoining rooms divided by a huge imperial fireplace, you can sense that it is a place rich in history and tradition. The food is very good, fresh ingredients and the grilling is done on a charcoal grill. The service is masterful, you can sense the attention to detail and customer orientation, from the counter to table service. Situated in a lovely location near the River Cam. We recommend a visit if you are passing through Cambridge. Personally, it is an experience to be repeated again and again.
What a lucky find really lovely pub, food was really good and to a high standard. The best bit though was the friendly welcoming staff who looked after us so well we went back for a 2nd visit during our weekend stay and once again nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely go back if in the area again.
We visited on a very frosty Sunday in January and the warm welcome inside was in stark contrast to the cold outside! What a friendly and welcoming pub. There is a lot of history associated with this place tucked away as it is, right by the Cam, with a great riverside garden where in summer probably not in January the antics of the rowers can be an entertainment in itself! There is an open fire and a good range of ales and beers served by very approachable staff. The food is good and solid with a most interesting Turkish twist. We had a great time and were impressed by the all round effort here in these difficult times. Worth a try.
Very impressed and will be back! Went for a work lunch yesterday, was a largish party of 14 and we were asked to pre-order which was fine. All our food was really tasty Turkish food, and freshly prepared. The Baclava was a hit too! The service was great and thanks for looking after us.
Great food!!! The mixed grill was excellent and humus exquisite. The atmosphere inside this little pub is amazing with a great fire place and Christmas decorations. People are super gentle and friendly. Highly recomanded, I'll go back there for sure.
Very nice pub with the best service. Specially Joao who took care of us during all the dinner and paying attention to the details. He recommended us mix kebab which was very good and got our drinks ready very quick.
