Spent 9 days on Ward 14 after a knee replacement . The staff were excellent! Very caring and helpful. All the departments work together to ensure that you are given every opportunity to begin rehabilitation & recovery. The food was nice and wholesome with something for everyone.nShoutouts to Brian , Noreen & Ruth the physio for helping me out during my stay…. Much appreciated.
I was admitted into wards 15 and 16 18th March for a procedure on my wrist. I was only in for one day but cannot praise the staff highly enough. Many thanks to each and everyone of you for making my experience as comfortable as possible.
Had my operation cancelled 3x. Was told to arrive at 7 am for my surgery and made me wait for 8 hours. Nobody updated me during the entire wait, had to ask the staff who are just laughing at the station. Was the last patient in ward 16. I understand that the NHS has problems but this is really upsetting on the patients part. Builds up anxiety.nnEdit: the ward staff are lovely. Was taken to theatre at 3:30pm.
I would have given more stars if I could. I had my Gallbladder removed last Friday18/10/2024 & I received the best care I could’ve imagined. I was nervous about the anaesthetic but a person, I forgot their name, they were tall with glasses & had lovely studs in their ears so after sharing my anxiety, they spoke to me & made me so relaxed, I felt like I could’ve had 10 anaesthetics after our chat! So thanks to you. Also, the day/night nurses, doctors, surgeon, anaesthetists & porters were all absolutely beautiful decent human beings. They cared about us & we were their priority. I hadn’t eaten properly for about 3 years so my appetite came back & the nurse noticed I was hungry so she gave me biscuits & offered me a sandwich. I can’t stress enough how much these angels deserve the best from life & I wish every single one of them all the best. Thank you for caring for me, I will never forget how you all treated me. Trying over several days/weeks to reach an orthopedic waiting list coordinator, have 5 direct numbers which are either diverted to voice mail or no reply, when I leave a message no one responds even the switch board operator said it's a nightmare as they cannot get callers through so it comes back to them.nEventually after multiple calls I spoke to a lovely lady Dawn who is hopefully going to call me back .... Have to say I spoke to her 2 weeks ago, seems she is the only one who takes calls ...nThis needs to be looked into by the team leader as you can't have 5 or 6 co- coordinators all constantly unavailable.nThank you.
